Chapter 523
chapter 382 part 2
Tang Zheng spoke quite casually. He actually hoped Evileye would be able to master it.
Through this, he could spread it through her, increasing the strength of Humans. Compared to the more costly and demanding "Grand Ritual," the "Magic Ascension Ritual" was much simpler.
"Ah... I can learn it too?"
Evileye exclaimed, her voice filled with excited, hopeful uncertainty.
Three days passed in the blink of an eye!
Evileye truly had no talent for setting up rituals. Even with Tang Zheng's explanations, she could only barely comprehend the ritual's workings.
Not being able to fully "understand" it wasn't too important. As long as she could set up the ritual, that was enough, but it would still take some time.
Contact was made with the Body of the Abyss again.
With the experience of the first time, both Evileye and Benjerry of the Abyss had clearly let down their guard.
Lower Wind Month.
The fifteenth of June.
A total of ten days had passed since the first contact with the Body of the Abyss.

—The Lesselde Tribal Nation.
This was a region located even farther from the Northwest Continent where Humans resided than the Imperia Kingdom, situated to the southwest.
It was a vast, endless great grassland.
The entire area had almost no obvious traces of civilization and was instead composed of more than a dozen nomadic tribes of Demi-human Races.
The entire tribal nation was primarily divided into two demi-human races.
One was the powerful Lionman race, and the other was the Jackalman race, which was dependent on them.
Night fell.
A cold, white crescent moon hung high in the sky, and sparse starlight flickered faintly.
On this vast and empty, dark grassland, the starry sky was one of the only faint points of light.
Of course, for Demi-human Races, the ability of Night Vision was a talent, so the dark environment did not significantly affect their sight.
Whoosh~
A cold, gloomy wind blew past.
The "rustle, rustle" sound of weeds being gnawed on by bugs echoed across the nocturnal grassland.
Tang Zheng had reverted to his human form. Dressed in a black cloak, he was sitting on the corpse of a Jackalman, taking a soft piece of white bread from his item box.
And in front of him stood a Jackalman affected by Charm Species.
After obtaining more detailed information about the Holy Sanctuary, he had immediately traveled to this region known as the Lesselde Tribal Nation.
The pitch-black surroundings did not affect Tang Zheng's vision. As a member of the Human race, he naturally wouldn't have such an ability, but with the "Dragon Race Transcendent" passive, he had indirectly acquired the Night Vision ability.
"This place is really huge."
Tang Zheng took a few bites of the white bread and swallowed, gazing into the depths of the endless grassland as he grumbled.
He had already investigated two tribes and had a basic understanding of this tribal nation.
The entire great grassland was larger than the Baharuth Empire and the Re-Estize Kingdom combined.
Yet this land was home to only a dozen or so nomadic tribes led by the Lionman race, making the investigation quite troublesome.
Without knowing the exact location, he couldn't teleport there directly even with teleportation magic, which was why he had caught a few Jackalmen to lead the way.
"How many people are there in your entire tribal nation?" Tang Zheng asked casually while chewing on his white bread.
"A-About 500,000," the Jackalman replied uncertainly, opening its mouth to reveal sharp, blackened teeth.
A foul smell escaped its mouth and mixed with the air, only to be instantly dispersed by the cold wind.
The Jackalman before him had a long, narrow wolf-like snout, turbid yellow eyes, and a head that looked similar to a dog's. Its body was rather slender and frail, but its hind legs were quite strong.
It was likely a demi-human race suited for running and tearing.
"Such a small population."
Tang Zheng was taken aback, looking up in surprise.
This grassland was so vast, and the environment didn't seem particularly harsh. He knew that the combined population of the Empire and the Kingdom was nearly 20 million.
"The grassland is not suitable for farming. Although many grass-like plants grow on the land, the various tribes are primarily carnivorous."
"The temperature on the grassland is extremely high during the day and very cold at night. Conflicts also break out between the tribes from time to time."
This particular Jackalman seemed to be one of the more knowledgeable ones, managing to give a comprehensible explanation.
Tang Zheng gave an imperceptible nod. His understanding of the entire Lesselde Tribal Nation had deepened slightly.
This was a nation dominated by nomads!
The form of government was a chieftancy, where the chiefs of the various tribes were all subordinate to the 'Monarch,' the leader of the tribal nation.
He wasn't interested in this kind of system.
But the information he had gathered during this time made Tang Zheng frown slightly.
The information from the Body of the Abyss was clearly several versions out of date. This vast grassland was originally supposed to be ruled by a human nation.
It was likely a human nation of the "Human Race (Rainbow-Eyed)" type, similar to the Imperia Kingdom.
The Body of the Abyss hadn't provided much information on this country's history. The only thing Tang Zheng could deduce... was that it must have been the nation where a certain "Buddha God" Player had descended or ruled.
The problem was, this country had already been destroyed and then occupied by another country, but it was definitely not the Lesselde Tribal Nation before him.
This meant that the nation that occupied the Buddha God Player's country had also been destroyed. The tribal nation before him was, at minimum, the third version.
Tang Zheng felt a headache coming on just thinking about it.
This region had undergone at least three changes of nations. In that case, the historical information, records, and other data concerning the Buddha God Player's country had most likely been lost to history.
"Right now, the only thing I can confirm is that the Mandala of Two Realms, that World Item, should be somewhere on this great grassland, but its specific location is impossible to determine."
Tang Zheng looked up at the vast grassland, his eyelid twitching.
"How far is it to the tribe territory where your 'Monarch' resides?"
Tang Zheng swallowed the rest of the white bread in his hand. Feeling something in his stomach, he asked the Jackalman in front of him:
"I need more precise information."
The 'Monarch's' tribe was the most powerful one on this great grassland. As for historical records, he would probably only be able to find them within that tribe.
"About... about a 10-day journey."
The Jackalman smelled the sweet aroma of the white bread in the air. Even under the influence of the charm, it couldn't stop drooling, the saliva dripping down its blackened teeth.
This Jackalman was clearly unable to give a precise distance, only able to respond with a vague measure like the number of days.
Tang Zheng gave it a somewhat disgusted look, then stood up, grabbed its neck, and easily lifted it with one hand.
"Ninjutsu: Concealment"
"Flight"
Hoisting the Jackalman, Tang Zheng vanished from the spot, then soared into the air, flying quickly in the direction the creature had indicated.
