Chapter 366

chapter 302 part 1

Chapter 301: The Sudden Great Melee of the Hills Begins

The Skeletal Griffon, an undead creature with the ability to fly, caused panic and fear among the demi-humans every time it descended.

Facing an undead.

Even in the chaotic situation of the battlefield, most demi-humans would subconsciously treat it as a common enemy.

This was an undead creature filled with hatred for all living beings!

While some of the demi-humans were distracted by the Skeletal Griffon, the sounds of slaughter echoed across the battlefield above.

The Alliance Leader, leading the Heavy Armored Skeleton Knights, was silently approaching the center of the battlefield. He and his knights were all under the effect of an 「Invisibility」 spell.

This second-tier spell was by no means a superior method of concealment.

Those with sharp hearing, exceptional perception, or powerful professionals could detect the abnormality.

This was especially true since most demi-humans had senses that were far keener than humans.

However, in the current environment, issues like the sound of footsteps, which 「Invisibility」 could not hide, were simply non-existent.

Only along the Alliance Leader's route did some demi-humans die inexplicably, leaving many of the mutually hostile demi-humans scratching their heads.

But they had no time to ponder, quickly redirecting their energy toward other enemies.

In an open area at the center of the battlefield.

*Bang!*

*Bang!*

Two warrior-type powerhouses, both standing three meters tall, were constantly clashing. Every collision unleashed a terrifying impact force.

The enchanted spiked club in Gagaran's hands and the enchanted double-bladed axe in the hands of "Demonic Claw" Weijie were both heavy weapons. Yet, in their grasp, they moved like light wooden sticks, blurring into a flurry of afterimages!

"Firm Strike!"

"Firm Strike!"

Two beast-like roars erupted as the two weapons collided once more.

*BOOM—*

A muffled, thunderous roar echoed across the battlefield, unleashing a deafening shockwave that made the ordinary demi-humans' insides churn!

"Excellent! Come on, Gagaran!"

"Only an opponent like you is worthy of this great one putting his all into killing!"

"Demonic Claw" Weijie's eyes blazed with a fiery light as he howled. Forcibly enduring the numbness in his arms from the impact, he roared and charged forward again. "Your head will become one of this great one's most memorable trophies."

"You talk too much!"

Gagaran was also feeling the heat of battle. Any previous thoughts and ideas had long been cast aside. Right now, he only wanted to defeat the opponent before him.

"As a sign of respect for you as a foe, after I kill you, I will eat your flesh and make your power a part of me!"

In an instant.

Gagaran and "Demonic Claw" Weijie were entangled in combat once again.

Dozens of meters away.

The Alliance Leader watched the combat zone that the demi-humans on both sides had deliberately cleared. His pale white eyes stared at Gagaran and Weijie.

A look of greed filled his eyes, as if he were looking at priceless items.

"I should have realized it sooner. No matter how excellent a human's physique is, it can't compare to the racial talent gap of a demi-human."

The Alliance Leader muttered to himself in a low voice.

This "gap" would become more and more obvious as one's strength increased, reaching a level that humans could never achieve, no matter how much effort or training they put in.

"To be able to bear that immense negative energy, only a demi-human powerhouse who has reached the 'Heroic Realm' should be capable of it."

The Alliance Leader's gaze shifted back and forth between Gagaran and "Demonic Claw" Weijie.

In terms of overall strength, Gagaran was slightly stronger, but in terms of physical strength, the Beast-bodied Quadruped race to which Weijie belonged had the advantage.

The Alliance Leader hesitated for a moment before his gaze finally settled on Gagaran.

*Thump! Thump! Thump!*

Suddenly, the ground began to tremble violently.

On the fiercely contested battlefield, all the demi-humans simultaneously stopped their attacks, looking around in a daze.

"Beast General" Hector Weiss, who was leading a team of about a hundred beastmen, immediately raised his hand, signaling all the beastmen to halt.

Immediately after.

"Beast General" Hector Weiss ignored the blood and mangled remains on the ground, dropped down, and pressed his ear to the ground to listen for any movement.

"The sound is coming from... behind us!"

"Beast General" Hector Weiss's expression changed. Just as he was about to get up and command his troops again, he pressed his ear back to the ground.

"No, it's not just from behind!"

"Large numbers are approaching from the east and west. Could it be reinforcements for this alliance of tribes?"

"Beast General" Hector Weiss found it somewhat incredible.

He could just about accept being outflanked from the east and west, but for a demi-human force of unknown numbers to appear out of thin air behind them—how did they manage that?

*Thump! Thump!*

The muffled thudding of rapid footsteps grew closer and closer.

Across the chaotic battlefield, all the demi-humans ceased their actions, warily eyeing each other, each suspecting the newcomers to be the other's reinforcements.

"That's enough, everyone!!"

A sonorous, high-pitched voice amplified by magic or a magical item echoed over the battlefield:

"Stop it, all of you!!"

Large figures of lean and sturdy demi-humans rushed out from the rear and from the east and west, appearing in everyone's vision.

This even larger group of demi-humans was divided into two distinct tribes!

One was a type of demi-human with bluish-green skin and white hair on their heads and arms, resembling apes but with atrophied eyes.

Cave Dwellers!

The other was a type of demi-human with horse-like hooves for legs and healthy, dark-brown skin, upon which were carved various tribal patterns.

Centaurs!

As soon as these two demi-human tribes appeared, they each dispatched a thousand of their own, who moved quickly to the north. Before anyone could react, they had completely surrounded the entire battlefield.

"Silence!"

"Beast General" Hector Weiss looked at his restless tribesmen behind him and barked a stern command. His face, hidden behind a dark yellow helmet, was filled with solemnity.

Even though he couldn't see the entire battlefield from his position, "Beast General" Hector Weiss knew very well that they had been surrounded.

The most important thing to do now was to break out!

However, "Beast General" Hector Weiss did not do so immediately, because the current situation was far too strange.

What was supposed to be a simple conflict and retaliation over a water source had taken so many unexpected turns.

The territories of the Cave Dwellers and Centaurs were in the far north; they were the least likely to appear here.

Something must have happened that neither their Beast-bodied Quadrupeds nor the Beastmen knew about!

"Beast General" Hector Weiss's face was grim as he thought to himself, "Lord Weijie's actions this time were a bit too reckless."

"All tribesmen!"

"Beast General" Hector Weiss raised his longsword, pointing its tip at the sky, and addressed his bewildered tribesmen:

"Rally to me! Get moving! Quickly!"

The enemy was no longer the allied demi-humans before them.

He needed to gather all his tribesmen and his Beast-bodied Quadruped comrades as quickly as possible to deal with what might happen next.

As "Beast General" Hector Weiss quickly observed the situation, he secretly calculated. The strength of the Cave Dwellers and Centaurs wasn't that great, even with their numerical advantage.

As long as he united the forces of their two tribes, they could still break through the encirclement.

*BOOM—!*
