Chapter 521
chapter 381 part 2
*Weng—*
[Experience Gained: 78121]
[Experience Bar: 30,450,000 / 1,880,000]
Tang Zheng glanced at the better-than-nothing increase in experience. With a thought, he retrieved a Raise Dead magic scroll from his item box.
Under the gloomy, gray sky, Evileye had returned to the Royal Capital after several consecutive teleportations. She called out a few times but found no sign of the Crimson Dragon Lord.
Even that Undead, Cassius Habakkuk, was nowhere to be seen. This made Evileye's heart tighten.
"Did something happen?" Evileye's gaze sharpened, and she quickly cast detection-type magic to survey her surroundings.
After a thorough search, she finally breathed a sigh of relief!
Evileye was well aware of the Crimson Dragon Lord's terrifying strength. If there had been an incident, traces of combat would surely have been left behind.
Since there were none, it meant the Crimson Dragon Lord had just left temporarily, which had happened several times before.
Evileye found a clean spot and began to recover her magical power while she waited.
About three hours passed.
The sky had completely darkened.
"Was the exchange with the Body of the Abyss successful, Evileye?"
A majestic voice rang out.
Evileye, who had been resting, quickly and respectfully stood up. "Lord Dragon Lord."
Tang Zheng had returned long ago. He had been flying and observing from a thousand meters up in the sky to prevent Evileye from being secretly followed and leading an unknown enemy back.
After all, a mysterious True Dragon Lord was behind the Body of the Abyss. These guys were each more cautious and secretive than the last, and extremely dangerous.
One could never be too cautious!
"It was quite successful, Lord Dragon Lord. Regarding the information about the Holy Sanctuary..."
Evileye recounted the entire exchange in full detail.
Tang Zheng was clearly stunned for a moment, an expression of pleasant surprise appearing on his face. Fortunately, he was in a state of invisibility, so his emotional change could not be observed by Evileye.
They actually had information on the Holy Sanctuary!
Tang Zheng was both shocked and delighted. He had initially approached the Body of the Abyss with the mentality of "taking a shot in the dark." His main objectives were:
One: to investigate the True Dragon Lord behind the organization.
Two: to prematurely trigger the rebellion of the Body of the Abyss.
Was this just luck?
An uncontrollable excitement welled up inside Tang Zheng. "The Buddhist Domain was the former name of the Holy Sanctuary?"
"The World Item, Mandala of Two Realms, has a distinct Buddhist style. Perhaps this really is the place."
This reminded him of the World Item in the possession of the Great Tomb of Nazarick, the Map of Mountains and Rivers!
Clearly, in YGGDRASIL, World Items were not limited to a Norse mythology theme.
"Mandala of Two Realms, Buddha God..."
Tang Zheng pondered deeply, the excitement in his heart gradually being replaced by solemnity.
It was obvious!
Neither of these two titles fit the style of this new world. Barring any surprises, that "Buddha God" must have also been a descended player.
An individual descent?
A guild descent?
Tang Zheng's expression grew more severe. There was too little information to perform a useful analysis. The only thing he could be certain of was that this item had existed for at least 250 years.
According to the rule of descents every hundred years, if that Buddha God was also human, they would have died of old age long ago, so you could add at least another 100 years.
He silently calculated in his mind.
The "Buddha God" likely descended after the Eight Greed Kings, a player who arrived four hundred years ago... or possibly three hundred years ago.
If so, then that "Buddha God" did not "die of old age." The possibility of an accidental death became extremely high.
At this thought, Tang Zheng felt a sudden chill, as if a cold draft was rising up his spine. This would be the formidable feat of killing a player who wielded a World Item.
Of course, a natural death was still more likely, since the Mandala of Two Realms was, after all, an ownerless World Item.
If the "Buddha God" had been killed, the item would most likely have been taken by the victor. No... one couldn't think of it so simply.
Perhaps the Mandala of Two Realms has certain conditions that must be met by its wielder!
"The second contact is in three days, then."
This thought surfaced in Tang Zheng's mind. His voice became a bit more serious as he spoke majestically to the one below:
"I require more detailed information about this location."
"I understand, Lord Dragon Lord."
Evileye nodded, her heart filled more with curiosity. What exactly was this so-called Holy Sanctuary that he placed such importance on it?
"Uh... um, the knowledge of tenth-tier magic," Evileye suddenly remembered the terms of the exchange and braced herself to ask.
That Abyss Benjerry would not be easily deceived. To get that information from him, they would likely have to offer something genuine.
*Swoosh.*
From the sky, an arm's-length, ancient-looking beast hide scroll materialized from thin air and floated down.
Evileye easily caught it. Holding the beast hide scroll, she noted its thick, somewhat raised texture, which looked like the hide of some kind of crocodilian beast.
She made a judgment in her mind.
"Lord Dragon Lord, what is this?"
Evileye's gaze fell upon the scroll. Seeing the densely packed script written on it, she asked in confusion.
What did this have to do with "tenth-tier magic"?
"This is a special magic ritual I acquired by chance."
Tang Zheng's deep and majestic voice drifted down from mid-air. "The ability of this ritual allows the caster to unleash magic two tiers higher than the power they themselves possess."
"If there truly is an Undead within the Body of the Abyss who wields the power of eighth-tier magic, as long as they master this ritual, they can indeed exert the power of tenth-tier magic."
As Tang Zheng finished speaking, the corner of his mouth curled up imperceptibly.
The "magic ritual" was not the key. Without mastering "Magic Ascension," the ritual was useless.
This beast hide scroll was not the original from the Lizardman ancestor but a copy Tang Zheng had made on the spot, into which he had added some of his own understanding.
It made the method for setting up the "Magic Ascension ritual" easier to learn and master.
Tang Zheng had no intention of deceiving the Body of the Abyss. On the contrary, he hoped more than anyone that they would master this power as soon as possible.
Otherwise, how would they resist that True Dragon Lord!
A few years later, the Great Tomb of Nazarick would have already descended, yet the Body of the Abyss still wouldn't have launched their rebellion. The main reason was that they felt they lacked the power to defeat the True Dragon Lord.
Since this group couldn't make up their minds, then Tang Zheng would give them that resolve!
If things followed their normal course, the Body of the Abyss would simply become a gift package for the Bone King, conveniently allowing the Great Tomb to dispose of a True Dragon Lord.
Tang Zheng had no intention of letting the future Bone King reap this benefit!
