Chapter 518

chapter 380 part 1

Chapter 377: Holy Sanctuary? Buddhist Domain?

This was a dilapidated Gothic castle.

Long-term disrepair had caused large sections of the castle's outer walls to peel away, and savagely growing vines had overrun the entire structure.

Inside the great hall.

Two figures sat facing each other. The lush vines obstructed nearly all the doors and windows, making visibility extremely dim.

Such an environment, however, obviously had no effect on an undead.

Evileye cautiously observed the figure opposite her. It was an undead with two heads and six arms, radiating a dense aura of Negative Energy.

The terrifying Negative Energy made the brightness around its body noticeably dimmer than the surrounding environment.

This was an incredibly formidable Night Archlich!

Evileye's heart grew heavy. The moment she saw the other party, she sensed that its strength was by no means weaker than her own.

"Hello, Evileye. I am an Inner Circle member of the Body of the Abyss. My moniker is 'Abyss,' Benjamin Ansis."

"Abyss" Benjerry observed his fellow undead across from him, the bones of his fingers gently rubbing a ring on one of them.

The power of detection magic spread out.

*Nothing?*

*Or is it able to completely block detection magic?*

"Abyss" Benjerry couldn't be certain.

Although Cassius Habakkuk had already informed him that the mysterious undead who had mastered the Eighth Tier had not come along, the necessary caution was still required.

"Uh... Abyss?"

Hearing this title, a note of astonishment entered Evileye's tone.

Using an organization's name as one's title made it easy to surmise this undead's status within it.

"Heh heh."

"Abyss" Benjerry's dry voice let out a friendly, soft laugh. "The Body of the Abyss was indeed founded by me."

"Its initial purpose was to facilitate communication among us undead, to prevent conflicts of interest from arising between us."

That was indeed the original purpose, but it gradually developed into a secret society centered on "knowledge" and "mutual aid."

In truth, not just any undead could join the organization. After 400 years of development, the total number of members in both the Inner and outer circles was merely fifty-five.

This was related to the fact that most undead did not like to interact with the outside world. Similarly, the members within the organization did not want the Body of the Abyss to be exposed, attracting unnecessary trouble.

Unfortunately...

"Abyss" Benjerry sighed inwardly. In the end, they had still attracted a huge problem.

Thinking of this.

Looking at Evileye opposite him, the scarlet pupils of "Abyss" Benjerry, which glowed in the darkness, flickered.

According to normal procedure, for an outside undead to make contact with a member of the Inner Circle, or to join the Body of the Abyss, they would need to pass the judgment of several outer circle members. This would require an observation period of several decades before they could contact the Inner Circle.

This was to guard against the possibility of bringing some kind of danger.

However, the current situation was special.

No matter the risk, how could it be greater than the danger posed by that Dragon Lord?

Especially after learning that of these two outside undead, one had actually mastered Eighth Tier magic and possessed the power to block teleportation magic.

If such a powerful being with such magical abilities could be won over to jointly confront that Dragon Lord, the chances of victory would increase significantly.

That's right!

This was also the purpose and reason why he, as the organization's founder, had personally rushed here.

Evileye nodded, feigning comprehension.

She did not care about these trivial matters. What truly concerned her was the Dragon Lord hidden behind the Body of the Abyss.

"My purpose in coming here has surely been relayed in advance by Cassius Habakkuk."

Evileye appeared somewhat cold. This was a negotiation tactic to appear aloof, which could make the other party take her more seriously, thereby reducing suspicion.

"Is it about the matter of magic going out of control due to a high-tier invisibility spell?"

"Abyss" Benjerry seemed thoughtful, then gently shook his head. "I am not familiar with the specific circumstances. I wonder if you could explain in more detail."

Evileye relayed a portion of the information that Tang Zheng had given her beforehand.

"Abyss" Benjerry's chin lifted slightly, his dry voice laced with surprise. "A superior version of the arcane spell 'Invisibility'?"

"For it to cause the magic of that Lord who has mastered the Eighth Tier to go out of control, this indicates that the tier of the researched magic is at least at the Seventh Tier or higher."

"Abyss" Benjerry was inwardly shocked, somewhat admiring Tang Zheng's research level, and then fell into deep contemplation.

The atmosphere became quiet.

Evileye did not interrupt. She, of course, knew that the Crimson Dragon Lord had not been affected by the magic at all.

This was merely a reasonable entry point for making contact.

"My apologies, my knowledge has not yet touched upon this tier of magic."

"Abyss" Benjerry first shook his head, but then his tone shifted as he said seriously:

"However, within our organization, there is another member who has also touched the power of Eighth Tier magic. If that Lord were to communicate with them, perhaps an answer could be found."

"Abyss" Benjerry placed his lower four arms on his lap, while his uppermost two arms were on the tabletop, fingers intertwined.

He actually wanted to make direct contact with that fellow undead who had mastered Eighth Tier magic. If he could pay a certain price to invite them to fight that Dragon Lord together, it would be for the best.

"This is a matter I cannot decide."

Evileye shook her head lightly. "I need to return and discuss it with my Lord."

"Abyss" Benjerry nodded gently, not surprised. After all, it was the first time the two sides had met, and a certain amount of mutual distrust was to be expected.

"I have heard,"

"That the Body of the Abyss is currently being controlled by a Dragon Lord?" Evileye suddenly asked.

The flames in "Abyss" Benjerry's scarlet pupils leaped. If he were alive, his expression would certainly be quite ugly right now.

"That is correct."

"Abyss" Benjerry's dry voice became grating. He hadn't expected the other party to already know about this matter. Lying at this point would be meaningless.

*It must have been Cassius Habakkuk who leaked it!*

If so, the strategy to invite the other party might not proceed as planned.

"It seems that is no ordinary Dragon Lord," Evileye remarked with a vague sigh.

*Fwoosh!*

The flames in "Abyss" Benjerry's pupils leaped again, and the Negative Energy overflowing from his body became deeper and heavier.

A chilling aura washed over the entire castle!

Even the lush vines wrapped around the outside of the castle, growing over its windows and doors, were affected and began to gradually wither and turn yellow.

A normal person facing the corrosion of such Negative Energy would likely be eroded to death in the blink of an eye, but as a fellow undead, Evileye was unaffected.

In front of an outsider.
