chapter 301 part 1
Chapter 300: Rebellion! In League with the 'White Elder' Halisha
Two arm-thick bolts of white lightning erupted in mid-air, twisting and contorting into spears of lightning that blasted towards them in an instant!
The pupils of the White Mist Witch and Khajiit contracted. Before they even had time for panic to set in, their vision was completely enveloped by the dazzling lightning.
*Dragon Lightning!*
With a crackle.
An even more blindingly brilliant, dragon-shaped bolt of lightning was released from Tang Zheng's arm, colliding with the two incoming bolts of white lightning.
BOOM—
A bluish-white fissure appeared in mid-air, splitting into a thousand forks the moment it exploded, releasing a burst of lightning.
The intense heat generated by the astonishing collision of lightning filled the air with a faint, scorched scent.
An invisible shockwave radiated outwards.
The White Mist Witch and Khajiit staggered back two steps, their expressions a mixture of panic and astonishment, before steadying themselves.
Tang Zheng stood silently in place, his red robe flapping wildly in the blast. He lifted his hooded face, looking behind him.
To everyone's surprise, the attackers were two maggots with warty feet and slightly different colorations. They were none other than the Blue Maggot King and the Pandes Matriarch, who had until now been utterly subservient.
"This isn't some special holiday for you demi-humans, is it?"
Tang Zheng was inwardly surprised, clearly taken aback by this sudden turn of events. He spoke calmly, "I don't recall preparing such a delightful surprise."
"So, the two of you have decided you've lived long enough, is that it?"
The Pandes Matriarch retracted the warty feet on her head, still showing some fear towards Tang Zheng.
The Blue Maggot King, however, wriggled its body forward a step. "This ends now! Did you really think we demi-humans would submit to you humans!"
"I am the King of the Blue Maggot Tribe!"
"And I am the Pandes Matriarch, one of the demi-human tribes of the hills! Even if I must sacrifice my life today, I will drive you humans out!"
The Pandes Matriarch's voice, though somewhat melodic, was sonorous and firm with conviction.
Seeing the Blue Maggot King and the Pandes Matriarch, who had always been so fearful and respectful in his presence, Tang Zheng couldn't help but raise an eyebrow.
If he didn't know for a fact that these two were the genuine article, he would have suspected they had been swapped out for impostors.
"Have you two gone mad!" the White Mist Witch exclaimed, stepping forward gracefully and staring in disbelief at the two traitors.
"The prince and princess of both your tribes are in the Master's hands!"
This scene had unfolded too suddenly.
The White Mist Witch was both shocked and enraged. If the Blue Maggot King and the Pandes Matriarch were rebelling, it meant their two tribes had completely turned against them as well.
The Master's plan would likely be severely impacted!
The problem was that she was normally in charge of watching the prince and princess of the two tribes, so it was highly likely something had gone wrong on her end.
Tang Zheng was curious as well. The only reason the two tribes had been so obedient was because he held their heirs.
"Hmph, my heir Beibeijie and the Princess of Pandes have already been rescued."
The Blue Maggot King snorted coldly, glaring at Tang Zheng. "As for the accursed power you vile human left in their bodies, we received assistance from the Guardian Fairies and have dispelled the curse."
"Now, we are free!"
No wonder.
Tang Zheng's eyes narrowed slightly. So these demi-humans really were plotting behind his back. He hadn't paid them much mind, but he hadn't expected such a surprise.
Guardian Fairies?
He knew of this special demi-human race. They were extremely rare and few in number. It was said they possessed the ability to freely change their size, and that some individuals among them had special abilities.
Tang Zheng raised an arm, brushing off the dust kicked up by the magical shockwave. "I must commend your courage."
"However, with just your power, it's not nearly enough. Isn't that right, Demonkin Queen... and our other guest?"
Tang Zheng's gaze passed over the Blue Maggot King and the Pandes Matriarch, focusing on a spot further behind them.
Since the Blue Maggot and Pandes tribes were acting up, Tang Zheng doubted the other demi-human races were uninvolved.
"Just as I thought, he found us. I told you not to use such petty tricks," came a steady, coarse, and world-weary voice.
The voice of the demonkin, Nasurini, followed. "Underestimate this human, and you will suffer for it. The Gray King died at his hands."
As these two voices spoke.
In the empty space behind the Blue Maggot King and the Pandes Matriarch, the air distorted, and the demonkin Nasurini appeared alongside a demi-human resembling an ape with pure white fur. The ape was adorned with gleaming golden accessories that served as armor.
Second Tier *Invisibility*—dispelled!
The Blue Maggot King and the Pandes Matriarch each took a step back, clearing a path.
"The Gray King? Hmph!"
"That stinking rat. He was an arrogant fool who relied on nothing more than fur harder than iron and his plague-poisoning tricks."
The long, white-furred ape spoke as if to himself, taking heavy strides forward. A pair of bestial, violet-glowing pupils sized up Tang Zheng as the ape bared its teeth in a savage grin.
"It's only natural he'd be killed after running into a Magic Caster he couldn't reach in close combat."
A pure, bloodthirsty malice emanated from the white-furred ape, giving one the feeling of being targeted by a vicious beast.
The White Mist Witch and Khajiit clearly felt the pressure. Faced with such an undisguised, powerful and hostile aura, beads of cold sweat formed on their brows.
Unlike Magic Casters.
The stronger a warrior is, the more they emanate a unique, imposing presence.
It was an oppressive feeling, as if born from a disparity in their very level of existence. In contrast, it was difficult to discern the strength of a Magic Caster unless they actually attacked.
The demonkin Nasurini also stepped forward, standing together with the long-furred ape.
"Well, it seems a new character has entered the stage." Tang Zheng's gaze fell upon the long-furred ape, a guess already forming in his mind.
"Nasurini, it seems you've also chosen betrayal."
"Betrayal? What are you talking about, human!"
The demonkin Nasurini clenched a fist. "After you killed so many of our tribesmen, did you really think this old one would genuinely side with you?"
"To you humans, a century is a lifetime, but we demonkin live three or four times as long."
"For an inferior race such as yours to think you could conquer us demi-humans is simply laughable!"
At this point.
The demonkin Nasurini suppressed her inner rage and suddenly let out a laugh. "Speaking of which, I really must thank you, human. For gathering such a large amount of food for us."
The air fell silent at that moment.
The White Mist Witch glanced nervously at Tang Zheng, panic in her eyes. It wasn't panic over the situation at hand, but the fear of completely infuriating her Master.
Clap! Clap!
"As I thought, I'm still a bit too easily influenced by superficial matters."
Tang Zheng raised his hands and clapped, letting out a faint sigh. "I recall that the last demi-human who truly impressed me was a Hobgoblin named Muguo."
"Hmph!"
The demonkin Nasurini clearly didn't understand what Tang Zheng was talking about, but the fact that he was comparing her to an inferior race like goblins made her snort in anger.
"Ha, interesting." The white-furred ape could detect the disdain for demi-humans in Tang Zheng's tone, and his violet eyes grew even colder.
"I am Halisha Ankara, King of the Stone-Eating Apes. I will be the one to finish you. So, do you have any last words, human!"
Halisha, the 'White Elder,' also one of the 'Ten Evils of the Demi-Humans,' raised a thick, long arm covered in white fur and spoke with a clenched fist.
Tang Zheng flipped his hand over, his right hand emerging from his sleeve, the Orb of Death held in his palm.
"Two of the Ten Evils of the Demi-Humans, two Magic Casters who have mastered 4th Tier Magic... this has finally piqued my interest."
Tang Zheng let out a cold laugh.
"Attack!" the demonkin Nasurini cried out first.
"*4th Tier Magic: Silver Knight's Lance!*"
"*4th Tier Magic: Yin-Five Elements, Thunder Marquis Summoning!*"
