Chapter 284: Holy Queen Calca, The Investigation

The power of a Demon God?

Tang Zheng was noncommittal.

According to the understanding of the Slane Theocracy and the Dragon Lords, only the 7th Tier represented the level of power of a Demon God.

In truth.

The Slane Theocracy's "Grand Ritual" could unleash 8th Tier Magic, but a ritual of this level generally required the support of national-level magic casters.

Fluder of the Empire was unable to perform the Grand Ritual precisely because he had not mastered "Magic Ascent".

However, these problems were non-existent for Tang Zheng. The current situation was a disguise he had deliberately created, leading outsiders to believe the true caster was the Lizardman, Crusch Lulu.

Looking at the group of Demi-humans prostrating themselves on the ground.

"As collaborators, it is your good fortune to witness power of this level." Tang Zheng's voice remained sinister, containing unconcealed arrogance and disdain.

He was committed to maintaining his disguised persona.

This time, the Demi-human kings felt no impulse to object or show disrespect.

He had displayed such a method.

It was undeniable proof that the terrifying Human before them indeed possessed the ability to annihilate their entire tribes and clans.

The Blue Maggot King and the Pandes Matriarch were too frightened to speak.

"Great Lord Human,"

But the Demonkin Nasurini was filled with reverence and adoration. With her lower hands pressed to the ground and her upper hands clutching her shoulders, she said, "We will surely assist you in completing everything you wish to do under your protection."

Tang Zheng nodded faintly.

"The only thing you need to do from now on is to ensure you have sufficient Magic Power. As long as it rains in the Hills,"

"I will gather you all again to cast the Magic."

Tang Zheng paused here, his tone carrying a hint of warning and a reminder:

"Do not leak what happened today. Also, directly facing a higher tier of magical power might be a good thing for you."

"I wouldn't want to replace you either, would I?"

The Blue Maggot King, the Pandes Matriarch, and the Demonkin Nasurini hurriedly lowered their heads in panic.

...

For over a month, although the Nobles behind the major Caravans had a tacit understanding not to interfere with each other, even covering for one another, the frequency of these transactions was incredibly high.

The Nobles involved, both large and small, saw their surplus stores of Wheat, rice, and other Crops depleted at an astonishing rate.

They even mixed in some old, rotten Crops with the traded goods. After all, who could blame them when the low-intelligence Ogres didn't even bother to inspect the merchandise?

Not cheating these foolish Ogres would be like turning your back on Gold Coins.

While the Nobles, large and small, were making a fortune, they also had to face a new situation: their surplus Grain had been completely exhausted.

In this situation.

The Nobles were not foolish enough to trade all their Grain for Gold Coins. Instead, they resorted to buying Grain from the Commoners.

This seemingly insignificant action indirectly drove up the market price of Grain.

Northern Holy Kingdom, the Holy Capital, Hebonsc.

Inside the Royal Palace.

Within a luxurious and grand Room, decorated with a rich blend of religious atmosphere and royal style.

A blonde woman, dressed in a white Priest-like robe adorned with blue decorations, sat behind a throne-like desk carved with exquisite patterns and the royal crest, reading a letter in her hands.

This blonde woman possessed a face that was both "cute" and "stern," her flower-like beauty radiating integrity and kindness.

What was most striking was her long golden hair. Unlike ordinary blonde hair, every strand seemed to radiate a more dazzling, bright yellow light.

A single glance evoked an inexplicable sense of sacredness!

She was the first Queen of the Holy Kingdom, also hailed as the "Sacred Treasure of the Holy Kingdom," Calca Bessarez.

Looking at the contents of the letter.

Holy Queen Calca's smile, often called the "Halo of an Angel," was gradually fading, her fair face showing indignation and shock.

"They... how dare they do this!" Holy Queen Calca exclaimed in disbelief, her fingers gripping the letter so tightly they turned white.

"So."

"What exactly happened?"

A brown-haired woman asked quizzically. She had similarly well-defined features, but her overall demeanor exuded a sense of coldness.

A sneer sounded from the side. "Obviously, some fools have done some foolish things."

The person who sneered was also a woman, with tea-colored hair and a face remarkably similar to the brown-haired woman.

However, slight differences in the corners of her eyes and mouth gave her a somewhat sinister air.

These two were Holy Queen Calca's "right and left hands." The brown-haired woman was Remedios, and the tea-colored-haired woman was Kelart.

The two were not only blood sisters but also among the most powerful people in the entire Holy Kingdom.

One commanded the Holy Kingdom's strongest military force, the "Holy Knight Order," and was known as the strongest Captain of the Holy Knight Order in history, one of the Nine Colors, "White."

The other commanded the "Cleric Corps," the strongest force of the Temple, and was also the High Priest of the Temple and the Captain of the Cleric Corps. She was also called a Genius and was publicly known as the strongest Priest among the surrounding countries.

The reason Holy Queen Calca could become the first Queen and remain secure on her throne despite the existence of male members in the Royal Family was because of the support of these two sisters.

After a brief squabble, the sisters fell silent again, quietly waiting for Holy Queen Calca to finish reading the letters.

Kelart crossed her hands over her abdomen. Although the gesture was elegant, her eyes revealed a thoughtful expression and a faint, dangerous glint.

It was unclear what countermeasures she was contemplating.

Remedios, on the other hand, was much more curious. In her experience, there were few things that could make Holy Queen Calca lose her composure.

The letters had been brought by her younger sister, Kelart, so she was the only one who didn't know their contents.

A few minutes passed.

Holy Queen Calca had finished reading all the information in the letters. It wouldn't have taken so long just to read them; she had clearly spent the extra time thinking.

"Here."

Holy Queen Calca lifted her light-cyan eyes from the letters, her expression having returned to calm. Looking at the curious Remedios beside her, she handed the letters over.

Remedios took the letters and read their contents. After just a few glances, an enraged expression appeared on her face.

"Your Majesty Calca! I'll go slaughter them!"

Flames seemed to burn in Remedios's eyes. "How dare they trade with Demi-humans... and even trade something as vital as Grain!"

"They've gone mad!"

If they weren't in the court and she didn't need to maintain etiquette before Her Majesty Calca, Remedios would have roared.

"These vermin who have abandoned the populace, defied justice, and forgotten the casualties the Demi-humans once inflicted upon the Kingdom!" Remedios said, gritting her teeth.

"Sister."

Kelart looked up, helplessly watching Remedios, who looked as if she might charge out on a killing spree at any moment.

"What do you want to say!" Remedios glared.

"There's no rush to deal with these fools; they can't run away." Kelart shook her head gently, a grave expression in her dark eyes.

"The real problem right now isn't these fools."

Holy Queen Calca nodded and said softly, with a serious tone, "It's what exactly is happening in the Abelion Hills."

"As expected."

"Your Majesty Calca, you and I are on the same page." A faint smile appeared on Kelart's lips, but her voice was laced with confusion.

"The relationship between the Demi-human Races in the Abelion Hills and us... needs no explanation. Why would they trade with us Humans?"

"Especially a Race with such low intelligence as the Ogres. I suspect something has happened in the Hills."

"Furthermore, the one controlling the Ogres from behind is different from the usual Demi-humans. This act of 'transaction' is not something a Demi-human from the Hills would think of."

Holy Queen Calca nodded in agreement with Kelart's series of analyses.

"Based on the current information, the Ogre Race in the Hills should have already been unified. To have traded for so much Food..."

Kelart paused here, her eyes filled with worry. "Could the Demi-human who rules the Ogres be planning to start a war?"

"War? We aren't afraid of those guys!" Remedios said coldly.

"No!"

Kelart looked up at her sister. "What I mean is, they might be trying to start a war to unite all the Demi-humans in the Hills."

Although this possibility was low, even somewhat incredible, given the current situation, it was indeed a possibility.

Remedios was confused, seemingly not understanding why this was a cause for concern. It was a good thing if those Demi-humans fought amongst themselves.

If the Demi-humans killed each other, they wouldn't pose a threat to Humans.

However, both Holy Queen Calca and Kelart looked concerned.

Amassing Grain on a large scale, and conducting transactions with Humans in a manner different from the usual wisdom and problem-solving methods of Demi-humans.

From this series of events, both of them could faintly sense a certain confidence emanating from the Depths of the Hills.

The air grew slightly quiet.

"First, we must determine what exactly has happened in the Hills," Holy Queen Calca murmured to herself. "Should we send an Elite Squad deep inside?"
