Chapter 151

Chapter 149: The Little Fang Tribe, Capturing a Human

Tang Zheng watched the group of monsters rushing toward him. A scroll appeared in his palm, and he casually crushed it.

Whoosh!

White light condensed in the air, instantly transforming into a Flame Archangel that flapped its wings and charged toward the horde of monsters in front.

Before he could determine if these strangely shaped monsters possessed any special abilities, Tang Zheng preferred to use a summoned creature as a probe to gather information.

Compared to the Great Forest of Tob, Tang Zheng knew very little about the Great Wetland. The anime and light novels also provided scant information about this region.

He chose to enter the Great Wetland from the forest instead of using Flight to fly in from above. This was precisely because of the lack of information, forcing him to take precautions. He was not yet at a level where he could ignore monsters and situations that the Bone King and the Great Tomb would disregard.

Boom!

The Flame Archangel, flapping its bright yellow metal wings, dove headfirst into the swarm of monsters and was immediately besieged.

The Flame Sword swung!

One after another, the monsters let out shrill cries as they were cleaved in two. However, when these monsters were slain, the blood that spattered onto the Flame Archangel's armor produced a sizzling sound.

[Experience Gained: 107]

[...]

[Experience Gained: 112]

"Does the blood have a corrosive effect? No, it must be poison."

"Good thing I didn't approach rashly."

Tang Zheng noted this scene with a look of understanding in his eyes. He turned his gaze to the monsters that had bypassed the Flame Archangel and were still charging toward him.

"Magic Arrow!"

A volley of magic arrows condensed in mid-air and shot out swiftly, killing the charging crested monsters in flight.

His current Magic Attack stat had already reached 158. Using low-tier magic against these monsters, whose levels weren't particularly high, was not difficult.

In just a few minutes, the more than fifty crested monsters were completely wiped out, yielding around 5,000 experience. Based on the experience given by these monsters, Tang Zheng deduced their level to be around 6 to 7.

Not particularly strong.

But among human adventurers, it would take at least a Silver-rank adventurer team to handle them.

Tang Zheng leaped down from the back of the Ghoul Dog and walked over to the corpses of the crested monsters. He casually picked one up, took out an empty water pouch from his item box, and dripped the creature's blood into it.

This kind of toxic blood was quite rare and could perhaps be used as an alchemical material.

He currently had two types of blood he could use. One was the blood of an oni, and the other was the blood of a Demon Snake Naga.

From the many wild beasts and monsters he had slain in the Great Forest of Tob, he had collected a variety of different bloods, but none of them could be used as alchemical materials.

This led Tang Zheng to suspect that he had not yet mastered other alchemy skills, which was why many materials were unusable.

From over 50 crested monsters, he ultimately collected only one water pouch of blood. It couldn't be helped; most of the blood from the crested monsters had been wasted in the earlier combat.

"It seems there are quite a few types of monsters in this area."

Tang Zheng stoppered the water pouch, stored it in his item box, and gazed at the vast lake area before him.

The recent battle had attracted the attention of many nearby monsters. He had already spotted seven or eight different kinds.

"Let's go, Xiao Hei." Tang Zheng remounted the Ghoul Dog. There were many things in this Great Wetland that interested him.

The Great Wetland was divided into two major areas: the Lower Lake, near the Great Forest of Tob, and the Upper Lake, near the Angelicisia Mountain Range.

Because the water in the Lower Lake area was shallow, there were no particularly dangerous large monsters. For this very reason, the number of ordinary monsters was actually extremely high.

Little Fang Tribe.

It was one of the five major Lizardman Tribes. Originally, the entire wetland had seven tribes, but two were defeated in a tribal war several years ago.

The exiled lizardmen were absorbed by the Dragon Tooth Tribe, and so only five tribes remained in the entire Great Wetland.

As one of the tribes that participated in that war, the Little Fang Tribe had lost many members and had only begun to recover in the last two years.

Even so, among the five major tribes, the Little Fang Tribe possessed no sacred treasure and lacked new tribesmen with the talent to be Forest Priests. This left the tribe at the very bottom of the current five major tribes.

Fortunately, the tribe was established near a small lake, so food was not a pressing issue.

But as the population increased, the various types of fish the lake provided were beginning to fall short.

At this moment, in a relatively large wooden house at the center of the Little Fang Tribe, several lizardmen were gathered with a solemn atmosphere, discussing something.

"Are you sure? You're talking about a human?"

The first to speak was a lizardman whose skin was covered in light yellow spots. His voice was filled with obvious surprise and astonishment.

This lizardman was noticeably shorter than the other lizardmen in the room, yet he was the Tribe Leader of the entire Little Fang Tribe, Su Kui·Zhu Zhu.

"I couldn't have mistaken it, Tribe Leader. It was a human, completely different from us. They looked thin and had a very strange appearance," the leader of the Hunting Squad said in a droning voice.

Speaking of this, the Hunting Squad leader's face showed a hint of curiosity. "That being can summon a kind of shimmering monster that looks very powerful."

As soon as these words were spoken, a Priest Lizardman, who had remained silent and looked quite old, spoke up, "Can you describe in detail what this shimmering monster you speak of looks like?"

The Hunting Squad leader waved his hands, describing it with a flurry of gestures.

Under the gaze of Tribe Leader Su Kui·Zhu Zhu, the Priest Lizardman pondered for a long while before slowly speaking, "It should be a type of summoned monster called an angel."

"That human is a faith-based magic caster, but it's uncertain what Tier Magic they are using."

The Priest Lizardman couldn't be sure. He didn't know much about humans; most of his information came from lore passed down through generations in the tribe.

"Regardless of that human's situation, since they have appeared in our tribe's territory, we absolutely cannot let them go."

"The other tribes probably haven't seen a living human before. This is a unique opportunity for us."

The tail behind Su Kui·Zhu Zhu swayed slightly, his gaze turning cold. "What's more, that human has now killed a large amount of our lake's food."

"Dispatch everyone from the Hunting Squad to capture that human. If they resist strongly, kill them on the spot!"

"Yes, Tribe Leader!"

The leader of the Hunting Squad immediately grabbed his weapon and excitedly ran out of the room.

"For that human to appear here alone, they must be strong," the old Priest Lizardman reminded him.

"Everyone in the Hunting Squad is the tribe's finest warriors," Su Kui·Zhu Zhu replied without a hint of hesitation.
