Chapter 107
Chapter 107: Die Once! The Two Women Are Fighting?
Author: Amnesty L
Two methods?
Leinas trembled, an expression of disbelief on her face. Although she hoped the alchemist before her could find a way to resolve the curse, she also knew it was impossible to find a solution in just one night.
“As long as you can resolve the curse on my face, I am willing to pay any price.”
Leinas took a step forward, her gaze serious.
“Heh.” Imina, sitting on the sofa, let out a low scoff.
“Don’t get your hopes up too soon.” Tang Zheng glanced at Leinas, not particularly interested in her so-called “any price,” and said indifferently, “Find a way to truly control the cursed power in your body. Once you become proficient enough with this power, the curse on your face will naturally disappear.”
After a night of investigation, Tang Zheng could roughly guess that aside from being related to the monster that had attacked Leinas, the corrosion on her cheek was also caused by her own lack of proficiency in controlling the cursed power.
According to Tang Zheng’s speculation, if Leinas raised her Cursed Knight Job to Level 3, she should be able to remove the curse on her face on her own.
At the end of the day!
It was a manifestation of her own power being out of control.
This might also be the drawback of people in this Otherworld being able to skip Basic and Intermediate Job Classes to directly acquire a High-Tier Job Class.
In the game, it was just a simple Job, but in the real world, a High-Tier Job Class is a manifestation of great power itself.
After all!
Even Tang Zheng, a Player, had to spend six skill points with the support of the Genius Job Class just to acquire this Job.
When Leinas heard this, her eyes held a lost expression.
Control the powerful force within my body?
The problem was… she also wanted to completely control this power, but ever since obtaining it, she had absolutely no clue how.
Tang Zheng had some understanding of Leinas's feelings at this moment.
For the people of this Otherworld, improving a certain Job required relevant training or study. It was just like in his previous life being told to pay close attention in class to learn advanced math; the key issue wasn't whether you studied or not.
It was that you couldn't understand it at all!
“The second method,” Tang Zheng continued calmly.
Leinas quickly snapped back to her senses.
“Die once.”
The indifferent voice caused the entire Great Hall to fall silent.
*Swoosh!*
After a breath's hesitation, Imina's slender waist twisted. In an instant, she flipped up from the sofa, her right hand swiping toward her waist.
Immediately after!
Imina landed on the living room table with one foot, her two purple pigtails fanning out in the air, as she fiercely flung the Short Blade in her hand toward Leinas.
*Boom!*
The Short Blade let out a sharp, air-ripping sound.
Leinas's eyes narrowed and her expression instantly turned cold. While retreating, she grabbed the Gray Robe draped over her shoulders with one hand, twisting it into a rope-like shape and lashing it through the air like a Whip.
*Crack!*
The air crackled as the fierce force of the lash easily batted away the flying Short Blade.
With two simple leaps of her slender legs, Imina flipped over to the bottom of the stairs where Tang Zheng stood. At some point, a Bow and Arrow had appeared in her hands.
“Heavy Shot!”
Imina's amber eyes turned cold, and the arrow nocked on her bow flashed with a brown light.
*Swoosh!*
The arrow shot out, creating a sharp, explosive sound as it tore through the air.
Leinas reached for a Leather Pouch at her waist, one smaller than a waterskin, and drew out a black Spear roughly the height of a person.
“Flowing Water Acceleration!”
Leinas shouted, Killing Intent boiling from her entire body. Her figure flickered, splitting into two afterimages that charged from the left and right before instantly merging back into one.
Just then.
*Vmmm—*
The air vibrated, and a dazzling white light condensed between Imina and Leinas, transforming into a Flame Archangel.
*Bang! Bang!*
Accompanied by two loud bangs.
The Flame Sword in the Flame Archangel's hand clashed with the black Spear in Leinas's hand, creating a heavy, muffled sound.
Meanwhile, the arrow fired by Imina struck the Flame Archangel's shining silver full-plate armor, leaving a dent.
The collision of the three forces created a shockwave that directly overturned some of the furniture in the living room!
An Angel?
A Flame Archangel?
Imina and Leinas paused, then turned to look at the somewhat stunned Tang Zheng standing on the stairs.
“What are you two doing?”
Tang Zheng's mouth twitched as he saw the two of them start fighting in the blink of an eye.
“Weren't you going to kill her?” Imina asked, still holding her bow drawn, while glancing at the tall Flame Archangel.
As expected!
She just knew it. When facing the three intruders last night, this guy had remained calm; he must have had some tricks up his sleeve.
She hadn't expected him to be able to summon an Angel, and a Third Tier Flame Archangel at that!
Among adventurers, that's at least at the Platinum Rank level.
Thinking of this, Imina's grip on her bow grew steadier, and she felt more confident about the situation.
That blonde woman is strong, but with the Flame Archangel engaging her in close combat and with my ranged support, dealing with her shouldn't be difficult.
Leinas said nothing, the black Spear in her hand still straining, creating a creaking sound at the point of impact with the Flame Sword.
Her long, golden hair hanging down the right side of her cheek obscured most of her face, making it impossible to see her expression.
“Sorry, my wording was the problem.”
Hearing Imina's words, Tang Zheng opened his mouth, finally let out a sentence, and waved his arm.
In mid-air, the Flame Archangel dissolved into white particles of light, signaling that he truly had no other intentions.
“Hey, telling someone to ‘die once’ doesn't sound like a joke,” Imina said coolly, lowering her bow toward the ground.
Tang Zheng was a little exasperated.
Perhaps his wording had been the problem, but wasn't Imina's personality—attacking in the blink of an eye with an action full of Killing Intent—the bigger issue?
As expected of a mercenary-type Worker.
“I do not like to joke, Your Excellency Alchemist.” Leinas swung her Spear onto her back and raised her head again, her fair cheeks a mask of indifference.
“No.”
Tang Zheng looked at her, his tone still serious. “My wording just now might have been problematic, but I truly wasn't joking. At the cost of dying once and then having someone who has mastered the Raise Dead spell resurrect you, the curse on your body will likewise disappear.”
This method, in reality, was a way to eliminate one's own Abnormal Status by de-leveling through suicide.
For the people of this Otherworld, the Fifth Tier Raise Dead is magic that only those in the Heroic Realm can master, and is considered quite high-level magic.
However, among Resurrection Magic, it is the lowest grade, causing a direct drop of four Life Levels. Leinas's Cursed Knight Job should only need to lose one level, which would be enough to remove it completely.
However.
Whether it was the Seventh Tier Resurrection, which only causes a loss of three levels, or the Ninth-Tier True Resurrection, which only causes a loss of two levels, ostensibly, no one in this Otherworld should have mastered them.
Besides these three types of Resurrection Magic, the faith-based system had other types, but they weren't suitable for de-leveling via suicide.
When Leinas heard this, a light flickered in her deep blue pupils.
She understood that Tang Zheng was indeed thinking of a way to remove her curse, but the method he was considering was not something a normal person could accept.
Raise Dead?
Faith-based magic casters who had mastered magic of this level could probably be counted on one hand in the entire Baharuth Empire.
Leaving aside the immense cost required to have a magic caster of that level cast the spell, the mere act of “dying” was something any living person would resist.
Even if Leinas was willing to pay any price to remove the curse from her face, she still did not want to die. Who knew if she could even be resurrected?
If an accident happened, she would be well and truly dead.
“Sending such a beautiful woman to her death.”
“You really are ruthless,” Imina's sardonic voice rang out.
After hearing their conversation, Imina now understood the situation. Glancing at Leinas from the corner of her eye, she had more or less figured out who this woman was.
