Chapter 92
chapter 058 part 2
"Survivors of Xandar, I spare your lives."
Martin's gaze swept over them, and that single glance was filled with an oppressive force that ordinary people found impossible to meet. He slowly spoke, and with a flash of blue light, several Space-Time Tunnels formed, engulfing Quill, Lockdown, and the others.
Martin finally cast a deep glance down at the ravaged and dilapidated planet. Not long ago, it had been a place of prosperity and peace, but simply because Ronan and Martin fought while wielding Infinity Stones, everything had changed.
This cruel world was precisely like this. Furthermore, the consequences of such visible battles were at least clear and understandable.
When those terrifying Cosmic Beings and Multiverse-level Beings go to war, they can shatter Universes with a flick of their hand and reset the Multiverse after unleashing their full power. Billions of lives wouldn't even know what happened; in an instant, they would all be wiped out.
Long after Martin and his subordinates had departed, the people of Xandar finally regained their senses. Many sat directly on the ground, quietly weeping.
"That guy killed Ronan and saved Xandar, but his reckless battle also caused countless casualties among Xandar's populace... Sigh..."
Xandar's high-ranking officials exchanged glances, their expressions bitter.
This indicated that Martin had never taken them seriously from the start, caring nothing for their lives or deaths, all for the sake of obtaining the Infinity Stones.
Cybertron.
Martin threw Quill and the others onto the ground, then called for Ratchet, saying indifferently, "Lockdown won't last much longer. Treat him as quickly as possible. Whether it's reconstructing his Chassis or replenishing his energy, make it fast."
Ratchet's expression was solemn. After examining Lockdown's injuries, he was even more shocked. He had scanned the power of an Infinity Stone on Lockdown, and it was an unfamiliar one.
"This guy actually touched an Infinity Stone directly?"
Ratchet subconsciously glanced at the additional purple gem on Martin's right hand.
"Yes, fortunately, I detected the signal he sent out when he was near death. If I had been a few seconds later, he would have been corroded to death by the power of the Infinity Stone."
Martin said indifferently.
Ratchet immediately sent Lockdown to the medical bay, his expression grave.
"Quill, although you didn't do a spectacular job this time, at least you tried – and your recruited team members are indeed not bad."
Martin surveyed the official members of the Guardians of the Galaxy, his tone flat.
Quill's body trembled. He was about to speak, enduring the intense pain throughout his body, but the next moment, green light flashed, enveloping all of them. Time flowed backward, and their injuries immediately vanished, restoring them to their pre-injury state.
Gamora looked down at herself, took a deep breath, her heart shaken.
Had this Martin already mastered the Infinity Stones to such a profound degree? But that's fine too. At least, it seems Thanos won't have the chance to obtain all the Infinity Stones.
"I won't restrict your movements. You can leave whenever you wish."
Martin's gaze swept over each of them. Finally, it paused almost imperceptibly on Gamora for an instant, a meaningful look in his eyes.
*Gamora, you can't stay here. If you remain, how will Thanos get the chance to acquire the Soul Stone?*
After everyone had left, Martin sat alone in his seat, his head lowered, carefully examining the four Infinity Stones.
Space, Time, Mind, Power—four powers directly pointing to the Universe's Core Laws, directly related to the foundation of the Universe, were now being carefully comprehended by Martin.
With four Infinity Stones in hand, ordinary Universe-level beings are no longer my opponents. Logically speaking, I've reached the pinnacle of the Single Universe, but...
Martin mused silently.
It's still not enough.
He once again used the Time Stone to observe countless Timelines of the future. As expected, countless futures were now all severed at a certain point by an unknown entity. It was as if, in the depths of the unseen, a terrifying presence had already set its sights on this Universe. Though it hadn't yet arrived, a mere thought from it had already caused this Universe to react.
If the enemy were Universe-level or even below Universe-level, capable of being affected by Timelines, they wouldn't be able to unify all futures at once...
Only terrifying beings who transcend the limits of a Single Universe could achieve such an effect...
Martin pondered, deep in thought.
Multiverse-level beings, with their sheer scale and specifications, were already equivalent to the vast and boundless Multiverse itself. Their every subtle action could casually destroy and create countless Universes. Their every thought would be etched into the Multiverse's overarching Willpower, manifesting as something akin to a part of the Laws of the Universe.
Now, the Time Stone was clearly telling him that the future of this Universe had been locked, and at some point, it would face a terrifying and unknown catastrophe.
According to Martin's guess, this was some entity whose thoughts had been imprinted upon the Multiverse. Even if the opponent hadn't yet begun to act, there was already a reaction on this Universe's Timeline.
Only Multiverse-level beings can disregard all Timeline Fluctuations, transcend countless Single Universes, and casually toy with billions of worlds.
Martin sighed with emotion, a hint of yearning on his face.
Who wouldn't yearn for such a level?
In the Darkness, four Infinity Stones continuously flashed with light, bringing Martin a ceaseless flow of immense power.
Time passed.
Finally, amidst this silence, something seemed to suddenly emerge. A great, unseen presence descended, directly triggering a violent reaction from the Infinity Stones, giving rise to unique vibrational frequencies.
At this instant, the flow of Space-Time itself seemed to naturally halt, as if Space-Time voluntarily made way due to the distinguished status of the arrival.
"I thought you would wait longer before coming to see me."
Martin's expression was calm as he spoke indifferently.
A figure slowly walked out from the Darkness.
At first glance, its entire body was as black as a black hole, without distinct facial features, as if its entire form was composed of shadows.
But upon closer inspection, one would be astonished to discover countless brilliant galaxies slowly rotating within this shadow-like body. It seemed as though all the dazzling stars of the Universe were encompassed within this great being, as if the entire Universe resided within this entity.
"I am Eternity."
This great being spoke.
