Chapter 29

chapter 016 part 2

By this time, exactly three minutes had passed. Martin directly deactivated the Matrix of Leadership, carefully preserving the remaining seven minutes to be used when he encountered an insurmountable and terrifying foe in the future.

At that time, if any being could truly force him to use these last seven minutes of Authority, it would likely be... an even stronger Universe-tier, or even a Multiverse-tier Deity capable of standing on par with the entire Multiverse.

Martin was generally satisfied with this battle against Odin. He had tested the Supreme Divine Armor and the Matrix of Leadership, and in doing so, personally experienced the various possibilities and consequences of increasing the use of Allspark power.

"If I had the Star Sword, I wouldn't need all this trouble, relying on the Matrix of Leadership's enhancement just to punch things... That's lame."

Martin shook his head inwardly, sighing with emotion.

The Gungnir that Odin held was Asgard's strongest offensive weapon throughout history, but this spear was, in the end, merely a Skyfather-level weapon.

If he had the Star Sword, which possessed invincible attack power, he could hack Odin half to death in a minute, at most!

The name of the strongest offensive weapon, Star Sword, resonated throughout countless Parallel Universes in the Transformers Multiverse of his previous life, as a supreme offensive-oriented Divine Artifact!

What a damn Gungnir! Pick up the Star Sword and give it a chop, and that damn spear would be instantly ruined.

Martin stood in the star-filled sky, about to step forward, but at this moment, a terrifying Odinforce surged from Odin's body, accompanied by an extremely ferocious and violent aura. Clearly, if Martin dared to approach, Odin would immediately drag him into a fight to the death.

"You won, Earthling."

Amidst his ferocity, Odin's face was filled with desolation and a deep sense of bewilderment.

He lost, and he lost so terribly.

Even a thousand years ago, when he single-handedly confronted the entire Fourth Host of Celestials, he hadn't suffered such a crushing defeat as he did now.

It had only been a mere thousand years, and even he, a God King, couldn't escape the racial characteristics of the Asgardian God Race. It's well known that ordinary Asgardian God Race citizens have three times the physical fitness of Humans, equivalent to a weakened Captain America – because Captain America's normal strength is one ton.

Asgardians who possessed Divine Power would experience an explosive increase in combat power and Life Level, such as Thor, who wielded the Divine Power of Thunder, and Hela, who wielded the Divine Power of Death. What's more noteworthy is that Asgardians can maintain their peak combat power for a very long time, but once they enter the twilight years of their lives, their bodies will age at an exaggerated rate until they completely die.

God King Odin, too, could not escape the life characteristics of this race.

"Your existence is a tremendous shock to the delicate balance of the Nine Realms. Although there has been a fierce conflict between you and me, I do not wish for you to stand against the Nine Realms."

Odin took a deep breath, barely managed to calm the decay of his body, and solemnly spoke, pulling himself together.

Martin suddenly smiled.

"Odin, as far as I know, compromise is never something you would make."

"I am not compromising with you, but for the sake of Asgard and the Nine Realms, I am compromising with you!"

Odin's body tensed, his expression icy, mixed with a resolute determination to abandon everything.

Such a terrifying Human, still harboring hostility towards Asgard, and his own offspring Thor was still on Earth...

If he were to die here in battle, this Human might very well strike ruthlessly at Thor and all of Asgard!

"Asgard's heritage is beyond your imagination, Human. There are things that even I, a God King, had to be extremely cautious of in my prime! And only I, only Asgard, can suppress those things!"

Odin looked on with a chilling expression.

Martin's expression was calm.

At this moment, a voice imbued with powerful Magic arrived.

"Martin, this battle ends here."

The Ancient One stepped out of Earth. Accompanied by dazzling sparks, the Ancient One emerged from a Portal and stood before Martin.

This was Martin's first encounter with this Earth Guardian, whose backing was astonishingly strong and whose methods were utterly ruthless.

Chapter 39

The Ancient One's forceful intervention brought this battle to a temporary close.

Odin lost terribly. In his twilight years, he was defeated by a "Mortal" from Earth, and the God King, along with all of Asgard, suffered a complete loss of prestige.

Martin observed the Ancient One. This was his first time seeing this Guardian. Sensing her immense Magical power, he pondered, showing a hint of apprehension. If possible, he would rather make an enemy of the entire World Tree than fall out with the Ancient One.

An Odin of this sort, frankly, isn't worth much. There are as many Odins as there are Universes. Looking across the infinite Multiverse, the total number of Odins is endless. Kill the Odin of this Universe, and there are still many other Odins in other Universes.

But the Ancient One was different.

Her backing was too strong: one of the ultimate Magical sources of the Marvel System, the Multiverse-tier Vishanti!

Martin fell silent for a moment, then pointed at Odin, saying indifferently, "This guy's body is almost collapsing. If I insist on striking, the entire Milky Way Galaxy will be destroyed, won't it?"

"That's right. Even I would find it difficult to protect Earth, and your subordinates are still there."

The Ancient One wore a smile on her face.

Odin, leaning on Gungnir, took a deep breath and said solemnly, "You won, Martin. You are only the second being in history to defeat God King Odin, and your name shall ultimately resound throughout the entire Universe. As the cost of my defeat, I must abandon the idea of holding you accountable, and I must also cast aside the dignity of a God King. I hope to gain your agreement – Thor cannot die; he has a greater mission to fulfill."

"The Eternal Flame," Martin suddenly spoke.

"What?"

"This is the cost of your defeat. I require the Eternal Flame," Martin said calmly.

At this moment, even the Ancient One turned to look at him, her face filled with surprise.

Odin frowned deeply, gripping Gungnir tightly: "The Eternal Flame is Surtur's Life Flame, eternally inextinguishable and extremely dangerous. Why do you desire such a thing?"

"What I intend to do is none of your concern. Either give me the Eternal Flame, or I will find a way to kill you right now – and even if I can't kill you, I will go and destroy Asgard."

Odin fell silent. After a while, he slowly raised his head. In his silence, he lifted a hand and beckoned. Immediately, a streak of light shot up from vast Asgard, swiftly descending onto Odin's palm via the Bifrost.

"I hope you can make good use of it. Back then, to kill Surtur, the entire Nine Realms were almost destroyed."
