Chapter 146

chapter 094 part 2

"Follow orders, Coulson. Red Skull is the one plunging this world into ruin and despair, not those Symbiotes!"

Fury's face was stern as he said gravely, "If necessary, I won't hesitate to directly awaken that terrifying monster to end Red Skull's evil."

Coulson's eyelids twitched wildly, he opened his mouth, and finally let out a deep sigh, choosing to obey the order.

As a high-ranking S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, Coulson knew all too well how bizarre and unresolvable that thing was.

After all, it was...

The Symbiote Dragon!

Chapter 179

The Symbiote Dragon!

Decades ago, S.H.I.E.L.D. had accidentally discovered it in Scandinavia, Northern Europe.

This was a Black Dragon frozen by endless ice, and likewise, the source of all Symbiotes on Earth.

"The last time we dealt with this entity was during the Vietnam War..."

Coulson walked through the gloomy underground chambers of Scandinavia. Wave after wave of chilling air assaulted him, forcing Coulson to pull his clothes tighter.

The deeper they went, the more they felt the terrifying cold.

Dealing with this Black Dragon was anything but pleasant, simply because this Dragon was too bizarre.

"Sir, this is an extremely risky decision! The black Symbiote extracted from this Dragon, although it can instantly grant ordinary people superhuman abilities, is fundamentally uncontrollable. We still haven't found a solution for the horrific consequences it caused during the Vietnam War..."

A researcher followed closely behind Coulson, his forehead already covered in fine beads of sweat.

He had spent half his life in this secret base, half his life researching this Black Dragon, and knew its dangers all too well.

"This is the Director's order. We only need to obey. Moreover, we will arrange for warriors with strong willpower to bear the Symbiotes; there won't be significant problems in the short term."

Coulson's expression was solemn as he kept his head down, looking at the documents in his hand, repeatedly pondering and contemplating.

During the Vietnam War, S.H.I.E.L.D. had already begun to manufacture Super Soldiers, and the discovery of the Black Dragon made them ecstatic. Although they hadn't figured out the Dragon's origin or why it was frozen in Northern Europe, none of that mattered.

The main point was that a portion of the black substance they extracted from this Dragon possessed the ability to possess and greatly enhance physical functions.

Super speed, super strength, super defense, Super Healing... Moreover, the possessed soldiers could skillfully deploy the black substance for scaling walls and swift movements, making them the most perfect Super Soldiers.

Considering the Black Dragon's colossal size, it could continuously produce this mysterious, seemingly living black substance.

It was practically a treasure trove for mass-producing Super Soldiers.

This black, seemingly living substance was named Symbiote by them!

Throughout the Vietnam War battlefield, the Symbiote soldiers displayed terrifying combat capabilities.

"Everyone thought this was the glorious beginning, but little did they know it was a Portal to Hell..." Coulson watched the virtual screen before him with a solemn expression; the image was extremely blurry, showing scenes of out-of-control Symbiote soldiers rampaging and slaughtering others.

All the Symbiote soldiers lost control, becoming mindless, berserk, bloodthirsty, and chaotic—complete lunatics.

Everything was like a nightmare.

"So, even now, half a century later, you still haven't figured out why they lost control? And you just kept these soldiers frozen for decades?"

Coulson's expression was grim.

"Yes, sir, we simply don't understand the mechanism," the researcher said, his face full of shame. "We speculate that the Symbiote itself is something between living and non-living, akin to a virus, and it contains a peculiar effect that directly twists human genes and minds..."

Coulson remained silent. After reaching the deepest part of the base, he took a deep breath and stepped into the heavily guarded, massive underground chamber.

What first entered his view was a terrifying Dragon, dozens of meters tall, frozen in ice, displaying a horrifying face roaring up at the sky, as if locked in battle with some formidable foe.

"Proceed. We need more powerful warriors to confront the evil Red Skull. This world must not fall into Hydra's hands."

Coulson himself was rendered speechless by the Dragon's immense power, and only after a long while did he say, his voice grave.

Numerous researchers immediately began to act, carefully drilling slender instruments through the thick ice. After carefully extracting a small amount of substance from the Dragon, they immediately retracted them. This process was repeated continuously, and clumps of black substance were individually placed into different transparent containers.

Coulson noticed that some of the black substance, after being freed from the ice, began to slowly wriggle.

"No wonder they say this thing is like a virus, existing between living and non-living matter..." Coulson observed the entire process, and personally watched as large numbers of soldiers were possessed by these Symbiotes, turning into Super Soldiers.

Soon, a Symbiote Legion was born. Numerous soldiers stood silently in place, awaiting orders.

"Very good, your mission is to kill Red Skull, at all costs!"

Coulson spoke gravely, directly ordering the soldiers to immediately begin their operation.

Agile figures moved swiftly, their speed and physical capabilities reaching exaggerated levels.

"No wonder the Director can't forget about this Dragon; if it weren't for the aftereffects of mental berserking, it truly would be the most perfect Bio-Weapon..."

Infinitely more reliable than Hulk serum or Weapon X!

Now, let these Symbiote soldiers go engage Red Skull's Sentry Robots and controlled Superheroes in battle. They won't feel pain no matter how many die, because more and more powerful Symbiote soldiers will surely be born!

Coulson took one last deep look at the Dragon, then quickly departed.

But no one noticed that this frequent extraction process was continuously stimulating the slumbering Black Dragon. The moment they left, the Dragon's ancient, unchanging eyes clearly opened a barely perceptible slit, observing everything with malicious eyes.

Faintly, a terrifying aura quietly began to sprout, but then instantly vanished.

It seemed this Dragon was indifferently observing everything—through the perspective of every Symbiote soldier.

"Damned Asgard, freezing me here to be tampered with by these foolish Humans..."

Within the Dragon's mind, extremely malicious thoughts surged.
