Chapter 96: The Second Blue-Eyes

The Stream of Light reappeared. Even with the combined Power of two Support Mechs, the X-Head Cannon was helpless against the terrifying 3000 ATK of Blue-Eyes. It was easily Crushed and sent to the Graveyard.
"Ugh!" Although Hayato didn't take any Damage from Blue-Eyes's Attack due to the Effect of Dragon Shield Armor, the Impact Simulation System didn't believe the Strongest Dragon's Attack would have no Aftermath. Enduring the strong wind, Hayato flipped over the Card he had Set last Turn. "Because the Monster on my Field was Destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, this Card can be Activated!"
"Graveyard Revival! Both Players can each Revive one Monster from their Graveyard. But as a Stakes, the Revived Monster can only exist in Defense Position while it's on the Field." Hayato retrieved a Card. "The one I will Revive is XYZ-Dragon Cannon."

"What a troublesome guy. Then I'll Revive the White Dragon's Tribute—Kaiser Sea Horse." Kaiba looked unhappily at the XYZ returning to the Field. After Hayato Draws a Card next Turn, the XYZ will have its ammunition replenished again. Although Blue-Eyes won't be Destroyed due to the Effect of Dragon Shield Armor, the Dragon Shield Armor itself will likely not survive.

Watching Hayato replenish his Hand to 4 Cards, Kaiba snorted. "Hmph, but because of the Effect of Nightmare's Steel Cage, you also have to Discard the number of Cards you Drew during the Standby Phase of your Turn."
"You don't need to worry about that, Seto." Looking at the Cards he Drew, Hayato regained his confidence. As long as he could survive until the next Turn, he would have a chance to turn the Duel around.
"My Turn!" Kaiba Drew a Card from the top of his Deck. He paused slightly when he saw the Card face, then burst into laughter. "Hmph hmph, hehe, ha ha ha ha! Hayato Kobayashi! Be proud of your Strength, because your dying Struggle has bought you the opportunity to witness a stronger existence!"
"By Tributing the Kaiser Sea Horse on my Field, the second Blue-Eyes, Descent!!!"
The second Strongest Dragon appeared on the Field. As Level 8 Monsters, the Pressure brought by Blue-Eyes completely surpassed the XYZ on Hayato's Field, not to mention there were now two Blue-Eyes.
"Your empty Spell/Trap Zone can no longer protect your Life Points. Drink the bitter taste of defeat right here! Blue-Eyes White Dragon Attacks XYZ-Dragon Cannon!"
The newly Descended Blue-Eyes opened its massive mouth, and white Light gathered within it, about to erupt as a destructive torrent.
"I won't let you do that! Activate the Effect of Rainbow Kuriboh from my Hand!" Hayato interrupted Kaiba's Attack Declaration. "When your Monster Declares an Attack, I can Equip it from my Hand to that Monster as an Equip Card. A Blue-Eyes equipped with Rainbow Kuriboh Loses Attack Ability!"
"But there are two Blue-Eyes!" Kaiba said, annoyed, watching the Blue-Eyes he had just Summoned fail to even break through a single Monster and instead be Restrained by Rainbow Kuriboh's seven-colored light bands. "Although one Blue-Eyes's Attack was interrupted by that Small Fry Monster of yours, the other Blue-Eyes hasn't Attacked yet!"
"Burst Stream of Destruction!"
XYZ-Dragon Cannon was once again annihilated by the powerful ATK of Blue-Eyes White Dragon. Sending the XYZ Card to the Graveyard, Hayato let out a breath. He had finally survived this Turn.
If he hadn't Drawn Rainbow Kuriboh with Nightmare's Steel Cage just now, Blue-Eyes's Double Attack would have been enough to annihilate XYZ and clear his Life Points.
"My Turn ends." Kaiba looked at Hayato's currently empty Field and couldn't help but show a smug Expression. "Blue-Eyes White Dragon is the most powerful existence in Duel Monsters. Even if one is Restrained, I can use the other to Crush everything standing in my way."

"Heh, then I'll try to defeat Blue-Eyes. My Turn!" Hayato Activated a Spell Card from his Hand. "Emergency Provisions! Send the Nightmare's Steel Cage on my Field to the Graveyard to recover 1000 Life Points!"

"Avoiding the Stakes of Discarding your Hand, and even recovering Life Points? Hmph, a mere 3800 Life Points are as fragile as a Flickering Candle before my Blue-Eyes White Dragon."
Hayato ignored Kaiba's attempt to boost his own Aura and Drew a Card from his Deck. "It seems my journey hasn't reached its end yet. Activate the Spell Card, Dimension Fusion! Pay 2000 LP, and both Players can Summon as many Banished Monsters as possible to their respective Fields!"
