"A monster with 1800 ATK, looks quite imposing."

Hearing Joey Wheeler's voice from behind him, Hayato said casually, "Yeah, it looks quite imposing, so I'll activate the Set Card in my Spell/Trap Zone, the Trap Card **Slipstream Summon**."

As Hayato's Set Card in the Spell/Trap Zone was revealed, a red circle appeared beneath the feet of **Volcanic Slicer**, which had just appeared. Correspondingly, a blue circle appeared next to the Face-Down Defense Position Monster on Hayato's Field.

"Can only be activated when the opponent's monster is Summoned, Flip Summoned, or Special Summoned successfully. I can Special Summon one monster with Level 4 or lower from my Hand in Face-up Defense Position." As he spoke, Hayato played a card from his Hand. "The monster I will Special Summon is this one, **Disciple of Ra**!"

A sandstorm suddenly rose and swept across the land. The warm sun, which had been gentle for a winter's day, suddenly turned into a blazing sun directly overhead, scorching the Earth. From within that circle rose a guard clad in gold armor. He knelt before Hayato in Defense Position, as if expressing his loyalty and reverence.

**Disciple of Ra** [Level 4/LIGHT]
[Fairy/Effect]
[1100/600]

But that's not all. The sandstorm was still raging. Besides the first **Disciple of Ra**, two more identical **Disciple of Ra** appeared on Hayato's Field.

Surrounded by these guards wearing gold hawk helmets, and with the atmosphere added by the ruins of Ancient Egypt around them, Exodia almost genuinely thought for a moment that Hayato was a Pharaoh from Ancient Egypt revived.

"When **Disciple of Ra** is Summoned, Flip Summoned, or Special Summoned successfully, its effect can be activated. I can Special Summon up to two **Disciple of Ra** from my Hand or Deck." Hayato said, looking at Exodia and explaining, "Now I have four monsters on my Field. The Tributes are gathered, the God is about to arrive!"

"I told you, prepare to face the judgment of the Blazing Sun, Thief!"

Exodia frowned, glancing at the four monsters on Hayato's Field. He said, "Is it the Ultimate Rare Card held by the legendary Duel King, the 'Three Egyptian Gods'? Even I have heard of them. Although I don't know what relationship that accessory has with you, I need the money it can bring me."

"Unlike normal monsters, the ultimate monster that requires three monsters as Tributes to Summon possesses terrifying power that ordinary monsters cannot contend with. In that case, I just need to take out the Tributes before it makes its descent!"

Exodia said, drawing a card and inserting it into the Spell & Trap Zone. "Spell Card Activate, **Lightning Vortex**! By discarding one card from my Hand, destroy all monsters on the Opponent's Field!"

The sandstorm that had risen without cause slightly subsided. However, a large cluster of dark clouds drifted in the sky, brewing lightning, as if about to fall. Seeing this, Bakura asked the person beside him, looking a bit confused, "If it's a card that destroys all monsters on the Opponent's Field, why use **Lightning Vortex** instead of **Raigeki**?"

"Oh right. If you use **Raigeki**, wouldn't you still have one card left in your Hand?" Marik was also a bit puzzled.

"You've asked the right person about this. Because I also use **Lightning Vortex** in my Deck instead of **Raigeki**. If you asked others, they might not actually know." Joey Wheeler said with a proud expression, patting his chest. "The truth is, it's the price, the price!"

"Even someone who doesn't know anything can somewhat understand the pros and cons between **Lightning Vortex**, which requires discarding a card from your Hand to activate, and **Raigeki**, which has no cost. The result is that in the Market, the price of one **Raigeki** can be exchanged for ten, or even nine, **Lightning Vortex**."

As Joey Wheeler spoke, he had an indignant expression. "To actually ask such a question is simply a blind spot in the knowledge of rich people!"

"Ultimately, whoever designed cards with such a difference... I don't need to say whose fault it is, right?" Tristan patted Joey Wheeler's shoulder. The two exchanged a glance and said in unison with perfect synchronicity, "Unforgivable, Pegasus!"

"Huh? Was that actually me's error?" Pegasus had a troubled expression and spread his hands, saying, "Actually, me was just thinking that card design should also consider Duel Monsters enthusiasts who don't have enough money. What's important isn't strength, it's love, it's love."

"Why don't you discard that cheating [Toon] Deck of yours before saying that?"

As the group was talking, accompanied by Exodia discarding a card from his Hand into the Graveyard, the lightning of **Lightning Vortex** also roared down from the sky, completely covering the monsters on Hayato's Field.

Seeing this, Funny Valentine was filled with great joy. "Heh heh ha ha ha ha, I didn't expect you'd actually be of some use, Exodia. Although your reputation is so big, you still let someone destroy your monster so easily. Looking at it this way, even I could do that."

"No, it wasn't destroyed." Exodia said, frowning. Funny Valentine was also startled upon hearing this. "What did you say? Didn't it clearly succeed in destroying something?"

As he spoke, Valentine pointed at something that had been shattered in the lightning. As the lightning dissipated, revealing the true form of the shattered object, Valentine discovered that it was actually a yellow Fiend that hadn't been on Hayato's Field just now. And whether it was Hayato's Face-Down Defense Position Monster or the **Disciple of Ra**, they were all still in an unharmed state.

"Trap Card **Scapegoat**. Can only be activated when the opponent activates a Spell/Trap/Monster Effect that would destroy a card on the Field. It negates that effect, and then, as a substitute, send one DARK Attribute monster with Level 3 or lower from my Deck to the Graveyard."

As he spoke, Hayato sent a card he searched from his Deck to the Graveyard.

"He actually sacrificed a monster from his Deck as a shield? The Duel King truly lives up to his name. However, someone like me doesn't have the qualification to give an evaluation." Exodia seemed prepared for this. He then waved his hand and said, "Then, I'll proceed to my Battle Phase! I use **Volcanic Slicer** to attack the second **Disciple of Ra** that appeared!"

"Small Flames!"

As the Pyro-Type monster spat out a burst of flames that struck **Disciple of Ra**, that seemingly magnificent gold armor was completely useless and was dissolved almost instantly. One **Disciple of Ra** was also destroyed in the molten attack.

However, because it was in Defense Position, Hayato did not take battle damage.

Cautiously not attacking Hayato's Face-Down Defense Position Monster, Exodia thus ended his Battle Phase. He inserted two cards from his Hand into the Spell & Trap Zone. "Set two cards. My Turn ends here."

"Then, at the End Phase of your Turn, due to the effect of **Slipstream Summon**, the first **Disciple of Ra** will return to my Hand." Hayato also returned the monster card on his Field, leaving only the Face-down Position Monster and the other **Disciple of Ra**.
