After the Duel, that kid didn't even know Valon had just tried to seal his soul, saying things like "That was a truly interesting Duel." The taunt was overwhelming, making Valon almost faint from anger at that trap-heavy Deck user.
That kind of Duel doesn't make anyone happy! Only that bastard found it interesting!
After that humiliating defeat, Valon reflected deeply and decisively chose to join them if he couldn't beat them.
