Here, the grass was green and lush, a healthy color filling the surroundings.
But Gary, enveloped by this greenery, wore a far from healthy expression. The cute-looking Vileplume across from him was putting him under immense pressure.
As everyone knows, in the Pokémon World, the more harmless something looks, the more terrifying it is.
Even though he was now using an Arcanine with a Type Advantage, he still didn't dare to be careless.
"Arcanine, use Fire Spin!"
Arcanine threw its head back, spitting a spiraling ring of flame from its mouth. It coiled and spun in mid-air, enveloping the Vileplume in the blink of an eye.

The ring of flame suddenly contracted, about to scorch the target in its center!
The blazing firelight illuminated Ariana's face, turning it crimson. She licked her lips, a look of pure amusement written across her face.
"Vileplume, use Petal Dance!"
At her command, countless pink petals instantly shook loose from the massive flower on Vileplume's head. On closer inspection, they appeared to be flowers from its native land, scattering all around its body but never touching the ground.
"Vile~"
As its body swayed, the myriad petals, carried by a mysteriously conjured gale, began to revolve around it. Soon, every single petal seemed to become incredibly sharp, glinting with a cold light.
The Petal Dance whirled to life, actually repelling the entire ferocious Fire Spin. Not a single spark could touch it.
And as the dance of flame and petals dissipated, a fierce, shadowy figure suddenly pounced from outside the blaze. Its lion-like head was savage, a terrifying flame still burning between its teeth.
"Arcanine, use Fire Fang!!" Gary roared.
Compared to its Special Attack, Arcanine's Physical Attack was its true killing weapon!
"Tsk, tsk."
Ariana chuckled softly, not even bothering to give an order.
Just as the Fire Fang was about to tear into its target, a myriad of petals shook loose from around Vileplume's body once more. The wind of sharp petals stopped Arcanine's fangs less than three inches from its body, preventing them from advancing another step.
"Vile!!"
Seizing the Opening while its opponent was in mid-air, Vileplume suddenly struck.
Dipping its body slightly to bypass Arcanine’s front, it then kicked off with its short legs and rammed its head forward.
*Swish-swish-swish!!*
Wreathed in its Petal Dance, it slammed headfirst into the small of Arcanine's back. Even without a Type Advantage, the blow still drew a muffled grunt from the latter, sending its body flying back several meters.
Neither its large head nor its neck and tail, which were covered by its Mane, were Arcanine's weak points.
But its waist, unprotected by a thick Mane, was. That one blow inflicted massive Damage.
"Hehe, Petal Dance isn't a one-time Attack, you know," Ariana said, covering her mouth with her hand as she laughed smugly.
Each use of Petal Dance lasts for two to three Turns, something a Trainer cannot control.
Of course, some Trainers could indeed train their Pokémon to fix the number of times the Move hits, but she much preferred the thrill of randomness.

This time, however, it stopped after two attacks. Vileplume's body began to sway; it had clearly entered a state of Confusion.
Seeing this, Gary's eyes lit up. He shouted, "Good chance! Arcanine, use Flame Wheel!"
No matter how great the Level difference, a Move with Type Effectiveness would still cause immense Damage!

Arcanine let out a heaven-shaking roar and, without hesitation, blasted a thick pillar of flame from between its fangs.
The intense heat continuously vaporized the surrounding poison, sending up plumes of white smoke, before finally landing a direct hit on the confused Vileplume.
Flamethrower erupted!!
"Vile..."
Under the scorching fierce flames, Vileplume let out a wail of pain. No matter how vast the Level gap, being burned by fire still hurt a lot!
Even Ariana was momentarily impressed by Gary's Skill. She hadn't expected Arcanine's jumping power to be so strong, allowing it to launch an air raid by using the Sludge Wave.
Then, a sinister smile crept onto her lips. She suddenly commanded, "In that case, use Synthesis."
The next second, the Confusion lifted, and Vileplume's gaze turned serious. Although there was no sun in this room, the petals on its head gradually began to glow with a light like that of the sun, as if it were gathering something.
Gary hurriedly shouted, "Don't give it the chance! Use Fire Fang!"
Seeing this, Arcanine didn't dare delay for a second. The moment its feet touched the ground, it kicked off again, its body shooting forward like a fiery red Afterimage, its head wreathed in a ferocious flame.
"There's enough time!" Gary clenched his fists.
Synthesis took a long time to use, long enough for Arcanine to complete its Fire Fang!

How utterly laughable!
Gary scoffed, watching as Arcanine closed the distance to Vileplume in a flash of Lightning, its terrifying Fire Fang ready to sink into its opponent's petals.

Gary suddenly realized something wasn't right.
Across from him, Ariana suddenly let out a "pfft" of laughter and pointed a single finger.
"Fire! Use Solar Beam!"
The Fire Fang was a mere half-step away from the petals when the light from them instantly reached its ultimate state. Then, an incomparably scorching, sun-white laser beam shot out.
*BOOM-WHOOSH!!*
Caught completely off guard, Arcanine was hit head-on!
Its Fire Fang was instantly broken, and its entire body was blasted back dozens of meters by the cannon-like Attack, finally smashing heavily into the rear wall and creating a shocking large pit.
Gary: "?"
Ariana gave a light laugh, wagging a finger at Gary.
"Little handsome boy, you should never believe a pretty woman's words~"
