Chapter 428

Chapter 423: All-out Battle! Perfect Ultra Instinct!

Author: Samsung Charmander

After being sent flying back several meters, Incineroar dragged its front paws across the floor, leaving long claw marks before it finally managed to stop.

"Roar."

The sharp pain radiating from its ribs was quite agonizing, indicating it had taken considerable Damage, but the mental shock was even more staggering.

How on earth did an unremarkable Metapod manage that?!

"As expected, this Power is terrifying."

Under his mask, the Masked Man licked his lips. Along with his confusion and curiosity, a frenzy for Battle ignited within him. He waved his hand forward.

"Incineroar, use Throat Chop!"

Even so, he would take the initiative to Attack!!

"ROAR!!"

Incineroar and the Masked Man had been partners for decades. It let out a ferocious roar and charged forward, both arms forming energy-infused blades as it lunged toward its target.

Metapod, however, remained expressionless. In its mind, there was no thought of dodging; it had completely surrendered all action to the autonomous control of its body's organs.

Some say that living beings actually have two brains. One is in the head, governing all advanced activities that can be consciously controlled.

The other brain is dispersed throughout the various parts of the torso. This is something a creature cannot control; all commands are executed autonomously, by the instincts of its tissues and organs.

"Swoosh!"

"Swoosh!"

The black thrusts came one after another, yet Metapod effortlessly evaded them all within inches, remaining completely untouched.

In Incineroar’s eyes, only a flickering silver light remained, and a sense of agitation welled up within it.

"Pod."

At that moment, Metapod spotted an opening in its enemy’s defense. As Incineroar swung its right arm for a thrust, Metapod slipped past the attack, its hardened, pointed end moving to meet Incineroar's abdomen.

In the next instant, Power erupted. A shockwave spread out in a single direction like a storm, forcing even the spectators dozens of meters away to instinctively lean back!

"BOOM!!"

An excruciating pain shot through its abdomen. Incineroar's body instantly caved in like a curled-up shrimp, its face contorting in pain as its mouth gaped open, looking as if it were about to vomit.

Under Ultra Instinct, no Power is wasted, all of it concentrated on a single point of impact. This allowed Metapod to exert a strength far beyond its Level, enough to inflict significant Damage even on an opponent of Incineroar's caliber.

"Roar."

Incineroar quickly suppressed the intense pain in its gut and performed several backflips to create distance. Raising its paws, it stared across the Battle Arena at the shimmering silver Metapod.

"Is this... a technique of Fighting Pokémon?"

A voice broke the stalemate.

A new glint appeared in the Masked Man’s eyes as a memory surfaced in his mind.

A few months ago, he had fought against Elite Four Bruno. At the time, his ace, Machamp, had used a peculiar punching technique that had caused him a great deal of trouble.

Now that he thought about it, its movements and Aura were practically identical to the Metapod before him.

However, the silver light flowing around that Machamp back then was nowhere near as dense as what was on Metapod now, nor were its movements as fluid and silky smooth.

But since it's a fighting technique...

"Incineroar, continue the Attack, Throat Chop!!"

The Masked Man's pupils narrowed as he barked the command, once again choosing to press the Attack. As the runner-up of the P1 World Grand Prix, he would not admit defeat when it came to fighting skills!

"ROAR!!"

Incineroar slammed a fist into its own gut, using pain to overcome pain. It then charged forward once more, its two paws wreathed in the black energy of Throat Chop as it rushed in wildly.

"Swoosh!"

"Swoosh!"

"Swoosh!"

The familiar scene replayed itself. One attacked, the other dodged. Amidst the high-speed offense and defense, neither could land a single touch on the other, the surrounding air filled with flickering silver light.

"Damn it."

Unknowingly, a few drops of sweat had trickled down Ash's forehead. For some reason, he felt that Incineroar's movements were getting faster.

It wasn't that Metapod wasn't attacking; rather, its opponent was leaving fewer and fewer openings. It was as if...

It was adapting to Metapod's Ultra Instinct attacks?

"Pod!"

Finally, Metapod found an opening and surged forward, its Power erupting.

"ROAR!"

But a sharp glint flashed in Incineroar's eyes. It let out a wild grin, then brought the fingertips of its right hand together, forming an energy spike to meet the Attack head-on.

"BOOM!!"

The Moves collided, instantly triggering a violent Explosion. Metapod didn't move an inch from its spot, but Incineroar was sent stumbling back several meters, its right paw still trembling after the Energy dissipated.

In terms of pure Power, Metapod still held the advantage.

"But my Incineroar can now block one of your attacks!"

Despite being at a disadvantage, the Masked Man was overjoyed.

Incineroar also wiped the sweat from its brow. Its previously bewildered expression gradually twisted into a wild grin as it raised both claws, once again covering them in a dense layer of dark energy.

By relying on its absolute advantage in Level and its perfect comprehension of fighting techniques, Incineroar could temporarily defend against this bizarre Attack. Meanwhile, on the other side...

"This kind of Power isn't something your Metapod can master. If I'm not mistaken, it can only last for another five minutes at most."

The Masked Man's words caused Ash's expression to change drastically.

The intense mental concentration and the continuous output of Bond Power made Ash's head ring, and waves of dizziness washed over him, making him extremely uncomfortable.

Five minutes?

Ash didn't think he could even last five minutes.

Incineroar's current Health Points were somewhere between one-third and one-half. Within five minutes, he would need to land at least three more hits...

"Metapod!"

At this thought, Ash no longer hesitated and shouted.

"Pod!!"

In the Bond Phenomenon, Metapod and Ash's minds were connected, allowing it to directly understand his intentions. It gave a subtle nod and calmly closed its eyes, its mind beginning to recall the shame, grief, and infuriating stimulus of being wronged...

Ash also took several deep breaths. Although he still didn't know how to control his Bond Power, he knew that every time he strengthened his resolve, this Power would be released as he wished.

"BOOM!!"

Soon, a pillar of silvery-white Energy erupted with Metapod at its center, shooting straight into the sky. A brilliant silver light and an immense pressure enveloped the entire land, turning the whole Battle Arena a pure, blinding white.

The aura of a deity...

No, this had already far surpassed the aura of a deity. It made everyone subconsciously forget to breathe, their eyes fixed on the sight in a stunned daze.

Even Moltres, still acting as a mascot on the High Platform of flame, felt its flames shudder violently, nearly extinguishing them completely. Its divine aura was utterly suppressed.

The Masked Man, being the closest, was frozen on the spot.

Incineroar could only stare foolishly, the wild smile solidified on its face. It subconsciously took several steps back as the Throat Chop energy on its arms vanished.

For a moment, the Battle Arena, filled with tens of thousands of people, was terrifyingly silent.

Under the dumbfounded gazes of everyone present, the silver pillar of light dissipated. At its center, Metapod opened its eyes.

At this moment, the silver light flowing on its surface had completely merged into its body. Its green skin was gone, its entire form transformed into a brilliant, solid silver light, translucent and crystalline.

Metapod stood there quietly. Right now, even if you were to grab the Groudon that's still lost in the Orange Islands, its divine aura probably wouldn't be this terrifying...

Perfect Ultra Instinct, the ultimate Power that has broken through the Ultimate State. This is...

Above the Ultimate State.

This is an ultimate state that not even a deity can necessarily reach...

"Metapod, end this quickly!!"

On the Battle Arena, Ash roared, shattering the stalemate.
