Chapter 1151: Pacifidlog Town

2024-05-15 Author: Samsung Charmander

Pacifidlog Town.

At the entrance of the Pokémon Center, a helicopter hovered in the sky.

"Well, this is as far as I'll take you."

Marnie waved with a smile, preparing to return to the helicopter.

Having finished their sudden filming of Kyogre, Marnie's group was heading back to Slateport City.

Slateport City was located just west of Pacifidlog Town, so they gave Ash and Blue a ride.

Just before they parted, Marnie suddenly thought of something and said with great anticipation, "By the way, Ash, once this is all over, I'd like to do an exclusive interview with you. I was wondering when you might have time?"

A trainer who traveled with a Latias, whose companion could casually bring out a Moltres—Marnie no longer thought of Ash as just an ordinary trainer.

If she dug deeper, she was sure she would find a great news story!

"An interview?"

Ash rubbed the back of his head, thinking to himself that he might finally get to be on TV.

"In that case, let's do it after the Ever Grande Conference is over!"

Ash agreed readily.

"Then we'll see you then! I hope you do well in the upcoming League Conference!"

After offering her final blessing, Marnie and her camera partner grabbed the lowered rope and returned to the helicopter.

They were both seasoned field personnel, and their movements were crisp and efficient.

*Whir, whoosh!*

In a short while, Ash and Blue watched the helicopter fly off toward the western sea before they turned to look at their surroundings.

Pacifidlog Town. It was a tiny town; in fact, it would be more accurate to call it a transit hub.

A piece of land jutting out from the sea's surface, only the size of a medium-sized plaza, had more than ten buildings constructed on it.

The rest of Pacifidlog Town's buildings were built right on the sea's surface, suspended over the water on elevated supports.

The various buildings and houses were connected by bamboo poles, using the tiny central island as a support point.

When the waves crashed in, the surrounding houses would sway up and down, bobbing unsteadily.

"One big wave from Kyogre could probably flip this whole town over."

Ash scanned the area. Fortunately, the edge of the maritime town was lined with countless massive reefs that served as barriers against the turbulent tides, with only small gaps allowing entry.

On both sides, separate channels were left open for passage.

Pacifidlog Town was older than Ash and Blue's ages combined, so the two didn't dare to comment further and quickly stepped into the Pokémon Center behind them.

"The Draconid People..."

As soon as he entered, Ash looked around, searching for anyone in strange attire who might be waiting for him.

Blue, however, walked straight to Nurse Joy, handing over her Moltres to have its energy restored.

This Pokémon Center, located in the ocean town, wasn't very large. You could see everything at a glance.

Ash then noticed a familiar figure sitting on a small stool in the rest area.

A lean and wiry figure, still clad in a simple linen uniform and a large, grayish cloak.

A thick mop of bowl-cut black hair hung down, even covering his eyes, making him look like a humanoid Hydreigon.

"Lord Dragon God Emissary! You've finally arrived!!"

Upon seeing Ash approach, the slender man rushed forward and exclaimed loudly.

His expression was one of utmost reverence. He immediately gave Ash a deep bow, stopping just short of kneeling.

"Uh..."

This display made Ash take an involuntary step back.

This was the same local from the Draconid People he had met once before, the one who controlled a Flygon.

*His name was Ponfo, I think?*

Back then, he had been quite displeased with him, an outsider. His attitude now was like night and day.

"The elder instructed me to wait here respectfully for your arrival!"

Ponfo's tone was extremely humble.

After all, all the Draconid People held the Dragon God, Rayquaza, as their absolute faith.

And by pulling out their ancestral Dragon God scroll, Ash had proven he was the legendary emissary who could communicate with Rayquaza and fight alongside it!

In that case, it didn't matter if he was a local or an outsider; he was an existence that Ponfo had to revere.

Even Zinnia, who had fled from Meteor Village, still held a fanatical faith in Rayquaza in her bones.

But unlike these people, Zinnia simply didn't believe in the rituals of Meteor Village.

"Dragon God? Emissary?"

There were quite a few other travelers in the Pokémon Center, and they all craned their necks with curiosity.

At the front desk, Nurse Joy, who had just taken Blue's Pokémon, also tilted her head with a bewildered look.

*Are some teenagers playing house?*

"Hehe, just ignore them."

Blue quickly waved her hand, not offering any further explanation.

Changing the subject, she turned to Nurse Joy.

"By the way, Nurse Joy, do you know if there's an island around here called Dream Island?"

"Dream Island?"

Nurse Joy paused, tapping her chin as if trying hard to remember something.

"I think there was a place called Dream Island... or was it Mirage Island? I can't quite recall..."

A few years ago, the legend of Dream Island was a hot topic in Pacifidlog Town.

After all, a mysterious island that appeared and disappeared at random would naturally attract many trainers to come and investigate.

But despite the continuous exploration by adventurers, no one ever discovered a consistent method to land on the island.

"But I think a few lucky adventurers did manage to land on it in the past."

Meanwhile, those who weren't specifically looking for it would somehow end up on the island by chance.

Hearing this, Blue's eyes lit up. As long as there were rumors, there was hope!

"Tell me more! Does Mew live on the island!?"

"Mew? Uh, I think there were some rare Pokémon there..."

Nurse Joy began to think hard again. She had only heard bits and pieces from passing adventurers while working at the Pokémon Center.

"I heard that a very rare type of Liechi Berry also grows there."

The Liechi Berry, a precious berry that rarely appeared on the market, was also a high-quality material for Pokéblocks.

It's just that the source of Liechi Berries has never been discovered. Even planting the berry's seed won't grow a tree.

"It certainly sounds like an incredible island."

Blue's eyes shone brightly. Maybe she'd finally find a lead on the Mew that Big Sis Blue wanted!

A while later, Ash and Blue walked out of the Pokémon Center.

From Nurse Joy, Blue had learned that there was an elder in Pacifidlog Town who had studied Dream Island quite extensively.

He could supposedly predict the exact timing of Dream Island's appearance, and she was preparing to go try her luck.

"Do you need my help?"

Ash couldn't help but ask.

He was about to head to the Sky Pillar with Ponfo next, a location that wasn't in Pacifidlog Town.

However, there were still more than ten days until the meteorite fell, so there was no rush to go there immediately.

"Nope! You just focus on taming Rayquaza and saving the world, Ash!"

Blue said with a wide smile.

These words, however, made the nearby Ponfo raise an eyebrow.

*Watch your words,* he thought. *It is to fight alongside the Dragon God, not to tame him!*

"Well then, good luck, Blue."

Hearing this, Ash patted her on the shoulder, and they parted ways for now.
