Chapter 46

**Chapter 46: Swords Drawn, Bows Bent**

Facing Di Tian's reprimand, Xiong Jun didn't retort and quieted down.

Aotian chuckled softly. "It's alright. I wouldn't bother getting angry with a little fellow."

"You..." Xiong Jun was furious, feeling that Aotian was targeting him.

Just as he was about to speak, Di Tian's aura enveloped him, forcing him to shut his mouth.

To Di Tian's left, a woman in a long green dress changed the subject, smiling. "Mr. Ao, my name is Bi Ji. These two behind you must be the 100,000-year-old Soft Bone Rabbit soul beasts from the Star Dou Great Forest, right?"

Her voice was extremely gentle and pleasant, her features exceptionally soft and beautiful, and her smile warm, giving off a very comfortable feeling.

"Yes, Senior," Xiao Wu's Mother replied politely. "This is my daughter, Xiao Wu."

"So it's Xiao Wu! You used to play in the stone forest often when you were little, and one time you even ran into the forest. You were a bit naughty, weren't you?" Bi Ji said with a smile.

Xiao Wu was a little shy, lowering her head, her small face slightly flushed.

Seeing the previously awkward atmosphere eased by Bi Ji, Di Tian was somewhat satisfied.

He gave a light cough and finally asked the question he most wanted an answer to. "Mr. Ao, may I ask what brings you here today?"

Aotian smiled slightly. "Actually, it's nothing major. I'm just curious about the identities of a few of you."

He looked at Di Tian, then at the purple-clothed beauty to Di Tian's right, and finally at an ordinary-looking man standing behind Di Tian. "I sense the aura of the Dragon Race on the three of you."

Di Tian's heart tightened, but his expression remained impassive as he asked, "Mr. Ao, are you interested in our Dragon Race identity?"

Aotian said, "Indeed. I just want to see what the Dragon Race is capable of nowadays."

His gaze shifted to the world outside the house, falling upon the emerald-green lake filled with the aura of life. "You've stayed here for countless years, all to guard the one beneath the lake, haven't you?"

Like a single stone stirring a thousand waves, Aotian's final sentence caused the expressions of Di Tian and the others to change drastically, their composure shattered.

Di Tian shot to his feet, staring sharply at Aotian. "Aotian, who exactly are you? What is your purpose for coming here?"

Aotian also stood up. "Didn't I just say? I'm interested in you members of the Dragon Race, so I came."

Di Tian refused to believe Aotian. Anyone who could identify him as a member of the Dragon Race and also know the Lord slept beneath the lake couldn't possibly be interested in something as simple as their identities.

Ten to one, Aotian was one of the Lord's enemies from long ago...

Di Tian's gaze remained sharp as a surge of fighting intent gradually ignited within him. He asked, "Are you from the God Realm?"

Aotian shook his head. "No."

"Then how did you learn these secrets?"

Di Tian's side was fully prepared for battle, but he still suppressed the impulse to kill Aotian immediately.

He had to be certain. If Aotian truly was from the God Realm, then this battle would be unavoidable.

But if Aotian was not from the God Realm, then he had to understand how Aotian knew these secrets. He had to eliminate this hidden threat completely.

Aotian paid no mind to the hostility from Di Tian and his six companions, smiling easily. "You can hide here and deceive others, but you can't deceive my eyes."

How could that be possible? Di Tian didn't believe Aotian's words at all.

They had a grand formation guarding this place. Only terrifyingly powerful enemies could discover it.

"Since you won't tell the truth, then we'll have to fight," Di Tian said, unleashing his full aura. The entire wooden house seemed on the verge of collapse.

The six individuals behind Di Tian also circulated their cultivation, ready to attack at any moment.

Aotian released no aura from his body. He floated gracefully out, landing in the clearing outside. He chuckled, "After all, I'm a guest. It wouldn't be good to damage the host's home."

Di Tian turned back and instructed, "Zi Ji, keep an eye on these four little ones. Don't let them slip away."

Zi Ji's strength was relatively lower, but controlling four 100,000-year-old soul beasts, two of whom had already taken human form, was still very easy for her.

The purple-clothed beauty said, "Don't worry, leave it to me."

Di Tian and the others rushed out of the house, landing in front of Aotian.

Zi Ji, on the other hand, flashed before Xiao Wu and her mother, easily restraining them and bringing them over to Da Ming and Er Ming.

"You four stay together. Don't even think about escaping." Zi Ji's form shifted, her body now covered in a layer of purplish-black scale armor.

Her figure was slender, her chest full and rounded, and her purplish-black long hair cascaded down her back. Her face was exceedingly lovely, her pupils a deep purple, and on her forehead rested a single black scale, exuding an eerie, demonic aura.

Da Ming and Er Ming felt a chill of fear from Zi Ji's terrifying aura.

Xiao Wu's Mother hastily said, "Da Ming, Er Ming, don't be impulsive. You must trust Senior Ao. We'll just watch."

Da Ming and Er Ming suppressed their urge to act, turning their heads to look toward Aotian.

Aotian was now surrounded by Di Tian and four others. The last one, Bi Ji, was a healing-type soul beast and could only stay on the sidelines to observe.

Di Tian glanced toward Xiao Wu's group. "They came with you. Don't you care about their life and death?"

Aotian chuckled. "They aren't in any danger, so why should I care?"

Di Tian said, "I'll give you one last chance. If you reveal how you learned the secrets of this place, perhaps this battle can still be avoided. Otherwise, we will exert our full strength to kill you here."

Aotian shrugged helplessly. "I've already told the truth, why won't you believe me? Since you won't make a move, then I will."

As his words fell, Di Tian and his five companions immediately grew vigilant.

Aotian gently tapped with his fair, slender arm. The handsome man to his left, who exuded an evil aura, was suddenly struck as if by a heavy blow. He spat a mouthful of blood and was sent flying backward into the dark forest nearby.

"Today, I'm only interested in the Dragon Race," Aotian said indifferently.

That Aotian had gravely injured one of them with such ease made Di Tian and the others' scalps tingle, their expressions changing drastically.

"Attack!" Di Tian roared.

Xiong Jun roared, his body swelling as he transformed into a gigantic bear over thirty meters tall. He was even more enormous than a Titan Giant Ape, his entire body radiating a dark golden luster.

In the blink of an eye, another transformed into a colossal black tree, its countless branches swaying, covered in highly corrosive venom.

Yet another transformed into a ferocious, three-headed beast that somewhat resembled a lion. Each head's diameter exceeded a meter, and its sharp, enormous teeth emanated a reddish-gold luster.

Finally, Di Tian transformed into an incredibly massive black dragon, his presence no less imposing than Xiong Jun's.

His entire body was covered in massive black scales, his four limbs exceptionally thick and powerful. His sharp claws looked capable of tearing anything apart, and his golden eyes radiated a monstrously terrifying aura.

His appearance truly resembled a lizard, albeit one magnified countless times and covered in tough dragon scales. The aura of the Dragon Race emanating from him was incredibly dense, and the Dragon Might he exuded affected the other fierce beasts around them.
