Chapter 21

Chapter 21: An Accident (Fifth update, asking for Recommendation Tickets)

Xiao Wu was already flushed red with suppressed anger. If Aotian hadn't been holding her shoulder, she would have already jumped up.

"You want me to keep you company? In your dreams!" Xiao Wu said furiously.

"Aiya, I just love this kind of feisty girl. Since you're not willing to keep me company, then just hand over the money," Boss Xiao said mockingly.

The lackeys behind him all looked at Wang Sheng and the others with undisguised contempt, their smiles utterly arrogant.

"You want money? We don't have any!" Xiao Wu was so angry that smoke was practically fuming from her nostrils.

"Hehe... so you've chosen the third option?" Boss Xiao cracked his knuckles, a cruel light glinting in his eyes. "Perfect. I haven't used you all as meat shields for two months during the summer holiday. My body is getting rusty."

Aotian released his hand. Xiao Wu shot to her feet and raged, "You want a fight? I'll see it through to the end!"

"Clap, clap, clap..." Boss Xiao clapped his hands, then looked at Wang Sheng and said, "You're becoming more and more useless, actually needing a little girl to stand up for you."

"I am the Boss of Dormitory Seven now!" Xiao Wu declared.

Xiao Chenyu glanced at Xiao Wu in surprise. He knew the rules of the Work-Study Students' dormitory.

Since this little girl had become the Boss of Dormitory Seven, it meant her strength was greater than Wang Sheng's.

Boss Xiao's interest in Xiao Wu grew even stronger. He clapped his hands together and laughed heartily. "It's settled then. The Small Hillside behind the Academy. Don't even think about running, any of you."

Wang Sheng had been furious, but he suddenly remembered the strength of Xiao Wu and Aotian. Aotian in particular, the strength he had revealed during his match with Tang San, had clearly surpassed Xiao Chenyu's.

At this thought, his anger vanished, replaced by boundless hatred and a sliver of satisfaction.

Soon, they would have their revenge.

Aotian stood up and tossed the Gold Soul Coin in his hand to Wang Sheng. "Go pay the bill."

Wang Sheng shot a cold look at Boss Xiao and his group, then very forcefully shoved a path through and walked out.

"Courting death!" one of Boss Xiao's lackeys said.

"Don't be hasty. They'll get what's coming to them in a bit," said Boss Xiao.

His gaze fell on Aotian, full of surprise.

Because he had to be a Work-Study Student, Aotian's originally gorgeous clothes had been replaced with ordinary ones.

Boss Xiao had previously thought Aotian was just a good-looking poor kid, but he never expected him to be able to produce a Gold Soul Coin.

"Keke... Kid, you're quite rich."

"Yes, I am very rich," Aotian said with a smile.

He waved his hand over the table, and a pile of glittering Gold Soul Coins appeared on the tabletop, at least several hundred of them.

This time, everyone in the room stared wide-eyed, looking at the small golden mountain in disbelief.

As for Boss Xiao and his group, they were practically drooling.

Although they were wealthy, they wouldn't have this much spending money. Several hundred Gold Soul Coins was an enormous sum even for them.

Aotian smiled faintly, and with another wave of his hand, he collected all the money.

Boss Xiao's face was filled with greed. He scrutinized Aotian's face but couldn't recall any young master from Nuoding City who was this beautiful.

"Do any of you recognize him?" he turned his head and asked.

His group of lackeys all shook their heads.

Boss Xiao sneered, feeling relieved.

In Nuoding City, he was the Crown Prince; no one's identity was more noble than his.

If this kid was from another major city, why would he come to a place like Nuoding to study? And as a Work-Study Student, no less.

In his heart, Boss Xiao was certain he had Aotian in the bag.

Not long after, Wang Sheng returned with a handful of Silver Soul Coins, which he tried to give to Aotian.

Aotian waved his hand. "Since you've all covered my chores, consider this your payment."

Wang Sheng glanced at Boss Xiao's group, figured it wasn't a good time to refuse, and accepted the coins.

"Let's go, everyone." Boss Xiao sneered, then turned and walked out.

Wang Sheng and the others followed behind Aotian and Xiao Wu, already treating the two as their backbone.

Xiao Wu worriedly asked, "Wang Sheng, will we be punished for fighting?"

Wang Sheng shook his head. "No, not as long as we don't get caught by a teacher."

Then, he asked, "Should we go back and tell Tang San? With him here, our chances of winning will be much greater."

As he spoke, he looked toward Aotian.

He knew that Aotian and Tang San's relationship wasn't very good.

Aotian shook his head and smiled. "No need."

Just as he finished speaking, an "Ouch!" came from ahead, followed by the sound of tumbling impacts and pained cries.

Boss Xiao and his group had all tumbled down the stairs.

Xiao Wu, Wang Sheng, and the others all stared in stunned silence, their minds a bit fuzzy.

"What are you standing around for? Let's go watch the show," Aotian chuckled.

Xiao Wu and the others snapped back to reality and quickly followed Aotian to the top of the stairs.

At the bottom of the staircase, eight people were piled on top of each other, with Boss Xiao crushed at the very bottom.

Cries of "Ouch, ouch" were incessant, drawing the attention of all the students still eating in the cafeteria.

"Dammit, you're crushing me!" Boss Xiao roared from the bottom of the pile.

His lackeys hastily got up and pulled him to his feet.

A constant stream of pained cries and sharp intakes of breath followed. All eight of them were bruised and swollen, with several ridiculously exaggerated lumps bulging on their foreheads like eggs.

The once suave and somewhat handsome Xiao Chenyu had instantly turned into a grotesque monster.

He kept sucking in cold air, the pain on his face making him doubt his existence. His entire body trembled from the intense agony.

In the first-floor hall, waves of laughter erupted. Everyone who saw the scene couldn't help but laugh out loud.

Boss Xiao's group of eight looked at the miserable state of each other's faces and instantly understood, their faces flushing red with shame.

"Go," he hissed, rushing out of the cafeteria.

His gang of lackeys followed him out.

Right now, all they wanted was to go to the school infirmary for treatment; they couldn't care less about Aotian and his group.

"Let's go. We've eaten our fill. Time to go back for a nice afternoon nap," Aotian said with a smile as he walked down.

"Look, that kid is so handsome, so cute!"

Some girl shrieked, and everyone's gaze immediately focused on the staircase.

Aotian descended gracefully, a smile on his face.

Though his clothes were ordinary, his looks and the aura he exuded instantly won him countless fans.

The boys' eyes shot out glares of thick jealousy, while the girls shrieked nonstop.

"How vulgar," Aotian sighed, shaking his head.

Wang Sheng and the others followed behind Aotian, all smiling wryly. Only now did they understand the extent of Aotian's charm.

Even after leaving the cafeteria, many bold girls still tailed them.

"Seeing Boss Xiao take a fall like that is so satisfying," one Work-Study Student remarked.

"It's karma," Wang Sheng said, his face also filled with delight.

Recalling the sight of Boss Xiao and his group, he couldn't help but want to burst out laughing.

Immediately after, his expression turned serious again. "The school infirmary has a Healing Soul Master. They'll recover quickly. We can't let our guard down. This fight is probably unavoidable."

As he spoke, he looked at Aotian and Xiao Wu.

Xiao Wu clenched her fists tightly. "Don't worry. When the time comes, I'll beat them so hard their own mothers won't recognize them."

Aotian just smiled and said nothing.

Why would he waste his time on such trivial matters? That Boss Xiao wouldn't be able to recover in just a few days. It would be useless even if they invited the most powerful Healing Soul Master on the Douluo Continent.

The group returned to the dormitory, only to find Tang San wasn't there.

Wang Sheng placed the food he had packed for Tang San on his bed. "He probably went to see Grandmaster. Grandmaster mentioned it before."

Aotian lay down on his bed, closed his eyes, and began to rest. Xiao Wu thought for a moment and also lay down on the other side.

Wang Sheng shook his head, returned to his own bed, and began to meditate and cultivate.

The other few did the same.

Their talent was average to begin with; only through diligent cultivation did they have any hope of making something of themselves.

It was not until evening, as the sun was setting in the west, that Tang San returned.
