Chapter 318: Set Item
"Huff... huff..."
After returning to my original form, I knelt on the ground, exhausted, gasping for air. Although the Shapeshifting itself didn't consume much Strength, the Strength required just for the transformation was considerable. Going back and forth like that was enough to wear a person out completely.
I raised my gaze and saw a bloody mess before my eyes. Icy blue Liquid flowed out from it, dyeing the entire Ice Chamber blue. If someone hadn't witnessed the battle just now, they probably wouldn't connect this pile of meat with the infamous Duriel.
The pungent smell of blood rushed at me, and my stomach immediately churned, making me feel like vomiting. Sigh! It seems the Blood Bear Form is still a bit too brutal. Of course, that doesn't mean there's anything wrong with it; brutality and bloodiness are the Instincts of the Blood Bear Form, and there's nothing improper about it. In fact, Werebear Transformation also influences a Druid's personality to a certain Degree, making even gentle Druids quite aggressive. However, the wild Instincts of the Werebear Form are completely incomparable to the Blood Bear Form. Druids can usually easily restrain the frenzy after Werebear Transformation, or utilize this power to better display their own Strength.
The latter is what is described in many Hero Novels: a person who is a gentle and respectable good person during the day, but transforms into a man-eating, ferocious Wolf (Bear) True Form at night or when seeing a full moon. This trick was used by Parents to scare disobedient children, and it always worked. The reputation of Druids was also greatly affected by this. Although these children would understand when they grew up that Druid uncles weren't Monsters but great Heroes protecting Sanctuary, if they were asked to choose their future from the Seven Great Classes, Druid would be the least popular choice besides Necromancer...
Although I really wanted to know what good Items Duriel dropped, I had no interest in touching that bloody mess again. I could only wait patiently, waiting for a full hour. Only then did the Corpse slowly turn into Light Particles and disappear—a Boss is a Boss, even their Corpse is different, I sighed.
Damn it, why can't I master Cleaving Skill, Gathering Skill, and the like, like some players? Maybe I could have gotten a lot of good Items from Duriel, I muttered to myself. At the same time, I watched the last Light Particles disappear with full Expectation. A magnificent Glow immediately rushed towards me, blinding me.
Huh? Why is there no Unique Glow? Not only that, there's no Glow from Magic Grade Equipment either. Oh my god, no way!! However, seeing a certain person's idiotic happy smile, I knew the Gain this time was definitely not small.
Set Equipment. And two pieces!!!!
Speaking of Set Equipment, I've always had a lot of resentment—I already had two Unique Items on me, but I still only had the Leather Gloves from the Death's Set obtained after killing Belial. Of course, I'm definitely not subtly implying that Set Equipment is inferior to Unique Equipment. I just think it's too ridiculous. With my luck, which could kick out a Mushroom anywhere, I've only gotten one Set Item after three or four years? Because of this, I've always been too embarrassed to admit I'm a Parvenu in front of others. Imagine the following conversation.
Passerby Alpha with a blurred Face: "Bro, I heard you're a Parvenu."
Me (hesitating): "Uh... I guess so."
Blurred Passerby Alpha: "How many Magic Grade Equipment do you have?"
Me (shyly): "Not many, only twenty or thirty."
Alpha with a blurred Face: "Uh... that's... that's okay (screaming Madly inside)." "What about Unique?"
Me (ashamed): "Even after getting the Horadric Staff back, only four pieces."
Alpha with a blurred Face: "Uh... that's... that's also acceptable (banging head against the Wall infinitely)." "What about Green Set Item?"
Me (covering Face): "This... only... only one piece."
Alpha: "Hahaha, you call yourself a Parvenu? Even my Party has one piece, you idiot, hahaha~~" (Finding psychological balance, laughing and leaving).
By the way, his Party seems to have ten people (five Class-Changed Ones with five Mercenaries)...
Brain completion finished. Therefore, you can imagine my Mood now. With these two extra Set Items, I can finally walk among the ranks of Parvenus with my Chest held high, although I have no idea what benefits the title of Parvenu brings...
Right now. These two Set Items are a Necklace and a Cloth Armor. The Necklace is a Rare Item, let alone a Set Item Necklace. But this Cloth Armor, isn't Cloth Armor the lowest grade common stuff? Even if it's a Set Item, it can't be that good, I felt a little disappointed in my Inner Heart.
Looking at the ground again, OMG, nowadays, even Bosses know that with a card in hand, Money is no worry. What should have been a pile of Gold Coins has now turned into seven Gems, five Cracked Grade, one Flawed Grade, and one Perfect Grade. The Perfect Grade one is a Diamond.
Speaking of this Perfect Grade Diamond... I had just started to speak when a phantom suddenly flashed by. I shivered and subconsciously retracted my right hand holding the Diamond. In the nick of time, Little Ghost's mouth appeared where my right hand had been.
"I say, are you trying to eat my right hand too?" Looking at Little Ghost's sparkling white Teeth, my heart turned cold, and my Large Hand rubbed her Face without hesitation.
"Wuwuwu~~, I wanna eat, Xiao Fan, you Bad Guy, you only know how to bully me," the Little Ghost, whose Sneak attack failed, helplessly accepted my punishment, wailing incoherently.
"Oh, you want to eat it that much?"
After rubbing for a while, I finally let go of the Little Ghost, whose cheeks were slightly flushed, and chuckled. I held the Gem in my hand and moved it slowly up and down in front of her Eyes. As expected, her beautiful silver Eyes also moved up and down with the trajectory of the Gem.
So... so cute, I was almost melted by Little Ghost's current Appearance.
"Heysho—"
Just as I was mesmerized, Little Ghost suddenly opened her small hand and attacked fiercely. Too careless, do you think a Cleric's Speed can snatch something from a Druid's hand? My hand lifted sharply, and Little Ghost pounced into empty air again.
"Wow!!" The unexpected failure made Little Ghost exclaim, puffing out her cheeks and searching my exposed Body parts with ill-intentioned Gaze, seemingly looking for a good spot to "bite".
"It's not impossible to give it to you..."
I glanced opposite. Tia was still sleeping soundly on Light Snow 's back. Very good. I pointed to my lips, revealing a lecherous smile. This Little Squirt Saintess, although lustful, values her Face/Reputation greatly and usually refuses to take the initiative. This is a great opportunity.
"Woo~~"
Little Ghost showed a troubled Gaze, seemingly struggling between Face/Reputation and the Diamond, then floated closer and closed her Eyes.
Lips and tongues met, and a sweet Aura immediately filled my mouth. A playful little tongue actively drilled in, wandering aimlessly, and was caught by me, intertwining with mine. Hehe, I said it before, this little fellow is actually a lecherous Saintess.
After a long, long time, I finally released Little Ghost. Seeing her lick her cherry lips lightly with her tongue, still wanting more, the unconscious charm she revealed almost made me unable to resist again. But unfortunately, there are other things to do now.
Little Ghost, who got the Diamond, cheered like a child. I originally thought she would eat it immediately. Unexpectedly, she took out a handkerchief, wiped the Diamond repeatedly, and then carefully put it away. I was immediately amused; she looked exactly like a Money grubber just now.
"Hmph~~, I don't want to be called that by Rogue's Third Stingy," Little Ghost stuck out her tongue and made a face at me.
"Ah, right. Little fellow, take a look."
I showed her the two Set Items I had just gotten, displaying a proud Parvenu look.
"..."
Little Ghost, who was originally quite happy for me, suddenly showed Hostility when her Gaze touched the Necklace.
"Hmph, anyway, they're just some Junk. Especially the Necklace, it's nothing great at all. I will absolutely not admit its Existence," Little Ghost crossed her arms over her Chest, turned her Head away, and looked disdainful.
What's with this full-on tsundere mode?
I looked at Little Ghost inexplicably. A flash of inspiration suddenly crossed my Brain—that's right, that's it. Little Ghost's Dwelling is that Magic Grade Necklace. Now seeing a Set Item Necklace that seems to be a bit higher grade than her own Dwelling, she naturally showed Hostility.
I say, are you still a child? Seeing Little Ghost like this, I couldn't help but have the idea of teasing her.
"You can't say that. Based on my decades of experience, this Necklace is definitely extraordinary, comparable to a God-tier Item."
I showed a solemn Expression, slowly stroking the Gem inlaid on the Necklace with a serious air. The Mysterious green Light flashing on it really made it look like something special.
"Don't... don't brag. I... I don't believe it. A Necklace or something, is there... is there anything that... that can be better than mine?" Little Ghost still talked tough, but her stuttering Tone and flickering Gaze had deeply betrayed her, not even noticing the Weakness in my words just now.
"I know, I finally understand. This... the Stats of this Necklace are actually... oh my god..." I suddenly looked horrified, raised the Necklace high, and shouted loudly.
Little Ghost swallowed. Seeing my excited Appearance, she showed a Solitary Gaze.
"What is it exactly? It makes me so Curious."
I changed from my previous excitement and scratched my Head, grinning foolishly. Nonsense, I haven't touched the Game for five or six years. Who the hell remembers the Stats of a Set Item Necklace? Besides, there's definitely more than one Set that includes a Necklace. I'm afraid even Cain wouldn't be able to say anything without Identifying it.
Little Ghost: "..."
The Result of teasing Little Ghost was that I had over a dozen neat and healthy tooth marks on my hands, Face, and neck.
A Set Item Necklace, what is it exactly? I held the Identify Scroll in my hand and slapped it on with an expectant Gaze. As a green Glow erupted, the Necklace's Stats finally appeared before my Eyes.
Cathan's Spell Necklace
Required Level: 11
Attacker Takes Lightning Damage 5
10% Faster Attack Rate
15% Drop Rate
Cathan's Traps Set
Cathan's Measure
Cathan's [Missing part]
Cathan's Visage
Cathan's Spell
Cathan's Seal
It's the Kasshan Set, I thought. While looking at the Necklace, I searched Cain's Book for a description of it. Ah, here it is. The Kasshan Set is also known as the Wizard's Little Set. Its low Equipment Requirements and decent Stats are deeply loved by Wizards. The book introduces that the most favored piece in this Set by other Classes is Cathan's Seal (Ring), with Stats of 6% Life Steal per Hit, Damage Reduction 2, +10 Strength. Tsk tsk, it really has quite overpowered Stats. It's a pity I got Cathan's Spell.
However, Cathan's Spell is also good. I don't need to say much about the Faster Attack Rate and increased Drop Rate Stats. The Attacker Takes Lightning Damage 5 Stat is also extremely insidious. Imagine in Battle, if an Opponent is unexpectedly shocked like this and falls into Paralysis Status, it might even turn the entire situation around.
There's also that piece of Cloth Armor left. I wasn't in a hurry to Identify it, but first flipped through the book. Soon after, I found its introduction. After a careful look, I realized that this unassuming Cloth Armor was actually a good piece.
Arctic Fur Cloth Armor
Defense: 102
Required Level: 2
Required Strength: 12
Durability: -
+310% Enhanced Defense
All Resistances +5
Arctic Gear Set
Arctic Horn
Arctic Fur
Arctic Binding
Arctic Mitts
The most overpowered thing about this Cloth Armor is its high Defense and low Requirements. A Level 2 Sorceress, even without adding Strength Requirement, can meet the Stat Requirements of this Set Item Cloth Armor by just wearing a piece of Equipment with +2 Strength. And the terrifying 102 Defense is close to a Normal Full Plate Mail. Wearing this Clothes, a frail Sorceress can definitely swagger around the Rogue Encampment. With other Equipment, ordinary Monsters basically can't break their Defense, and All Resistances +5 is also a pretty good Stat.
Very good, I'm quite satisfied. Both are very practical pieces of Equipment. It's just that I can't use them. Little Ghost compared the Identified Set Item Necklace with her Magic Grade Necklace for a long time, finally breathed a sigh of relief, and became proud. As for the Set Item Cloth Armor, I have even less use for it. Speaking of high Defense, I still have a Magic Grade Chain Mail with 137 Defense.
Uh, I'll put them away for now. Maybe I can collect the full Set someday? Then they might have some use value.
Besides these two Set Items. Among the five Magic Grade Equipment dropped by Duriel, there was actually a very awesome Item. It's something that didn't exist in the Game either.
A Magic Grade... Arrow?!!!
When I Identified it with great Curiosity, I couldn't help but burst into laughter.
Exploding Arrows
Required Level: 24
Required Dexterity: 50
Quantity: 1
Comes with Level 1 Exploding Arrow Attack
This... what a powerful Consumable! A bundle of these Arrows is equivalent to any Class (of course, provided you can use a Bow) being able to cast the Amazon's Level 1 Tier 3 Skill—Exploding Arrow once. Bursting Potion and Strangling Gas Potion are completely overshadowed by it. Thinking back to when Sister Sharna used this move to explode Bishibosh's chrysanthemum back at the Rogue Encampment, I couldn't help but feel my Body tremble and my chrysanthemum tighten.
If I were to sell this bundle of Arrows, what price would it be equivalent to? Magic Grade, or Unique Grade? I couldn't help but let my imagination run wild. Of course, it's just thinking; I wouldn't sell this thing even if you killed me.
After searching the entire Ice Chamber and finding nothing left behind, I glanced at Tia, who was still sleeping soundly, and then looked at the Opening where Duriel came from. After hesitating for a while, I decided it would be better to explore deeper. Thinking this, I instructed Light Snow and the others to look after Tia, and with a light leap, I jumped onto the Cave Opening.
It was pitch black inside, and I couldn't see anything. I lit a Torch and held it gently inside. By the Torchlight, I saw the damp inner Wall of the Cave was made of Soil. This meant that it was very likely that I had already left the Ancient Tomb area.
Although I didn't feel any terrifying Aura inside, I didn't dare to be careless at all. I switched to the Necromancer-specific Shrunken Head dropped by Horazon, preparing to summon a Skeleton to play with. But I was immediately in a dilemma; without a Corpse, what could I do? It's really hard for Necromancers; they have to keep a large pile of Corpses in their Inventory.
But soon, I found a Target. With the faint Light of the Torch, something was wriggling not far from the Cave Entrance. Bringing the Torch closer, I found it was a Disgusting Worm about three feet long, black and sticky on the outside, looking very hard. Feeling that the Target wasn't dangerous, and its Appearance was really unsightly, I boldly approached and raised my foot...
I stomp, I stomp, I stomp, stomp, stomp... When this foot got tired, I switched to the other foot and stomped, stomp, stomp...
So... so hard!! I rubbed my numb foot, feeling depressed. The shell of this Giant Worm was even harder than steel. It took me several minutes of stomping to finally kill it. I should have just swung my Long Saber and finished it off earlier instead of competing with it.
However, thinking that I could immediately use the Summon Skeleton Skill, I became happy again. In fact, not just me, anyone who has played the Game would have a soft spot for this Skill, right? Of course, wanting it is one thing, but if you really asked them to Summon it in the real world, it would be good if they weren't scared half to Death. A gloomy Skeleton Frame, do you think it's really as harmonious as it's drawn in the Game?
Runes far more obscure than a Wizard's Elemental Magic flashed through my Brain. I silently chanted. After about five seconds, the Shrunken Head equipped on my right hand gently waved. The Giant Worm's Corpse on the ground immediately flashed a black Light, then exploded. A pale hand bone rose from the ground, followed by a Skull, and a Skeleton Frame. In less than three seconds, a pale Skeleton appeared In Front of me, holding a shining Long Saber in its left hand and a Round Wooden Shield in its right, with blue Glow flashing in its empty Eye Sockets.
"Huff... huff..."
After returning to my original form, I knelt on the ground, exhausted, gasping for air. Although the Shapeshifting itself didn't consume much Strength, the Strength required just for the transformation was considerable. Going back and forth like that was enough to wear a person out completely.
