Chapter 833: Eastern Han Dynasty, Luoyang (2)
"Gold, jewels, agate, jade... Damn the evil feudal society."
Sabretooth felt like he had gone blind. Looking back on half a lifetime, he suddenly realized he was just a poor bastard.
Bumblebee scratched his head, his electronic eyes immediately scanning the palace complex below. He couldn't quite understand Sabretooth's values. Was this junk, found everywhere throughout the universe, really that valuable?
Zheng Xian, the Director of S.P.E.A.R., dressed in a somber Zhongshan suit, frowned. He stared at the golden Celestial below and asked Bumblebee, "Is this also a Transformer? What she's doing is a bit excessive."
Bumblebee let out a string of garbled noises.
Zheng Xian's frown deepened. "What did you say? You don't have her data in your database?"
Bumblebee continued his garbled noises.
Director Zheng Xian nodded repeatedly, his expression serious. "Is that so? Not one of Tony's people. This makes things difficult. Where did such a terrifying robot come from?"
Sabretooth and the others nearby looked as if they had seen a ghost. They still couldn't figure out how their Director could communicate with Bumblebee without relying on a machine translator.
This Director must be a fake, right? His skill points in Alien Language are just too damn high!
Zheng Xian looked down at the Goddess below, his expression grave. His intuition gave him an almost suffocating feeling, the kind of despair one feels when facing a natural predator.
"Where did this world-annihilating villain come from..."
Zheng Xian's face was grim.
The ability to transform an entire city in an instant, and even modify the memories of its several million inhabitants—this power was simply too outrageous.
According to Zheng Xian's knowledge, the weakest being capable of such a feat would have to be a Demigod, and possibly even stronger. Of course, the Reality Stone could also easily accomplish this.
"You have been surrounded! Cease your resistance!"
Another voice came from the ring-shaped orbital carrier.
The Goddess finally looked up, glancing at the garbage-like aircraft in the sky that was posturing so arrogantly yet was so obviously primitive. Red light flickered in her three eyes, revealing a hint of impatience. A beam of red light shot into the sky, and the ring-shaped orbital carrier vanished on the spot, its personnel sent into freefall.
She didn't kill anyone, only destroyed an inanimate object.
Fortunately, the ring-shaped orbital carrier was filled with S.P.E.A.R.'s elite operatives, all of whom were elites selected through rigorous trials from the nation's 150,000 registered superhumans. Even those purely in intelligence were highly capable. Aside from a few unlucky souls, no one was injured, and there were no fatalities.
Bumblebee slammed into the ground with a bang. Having transformed into a ball, he bounced twice on the spot before landing steadily on his feet.
With a similar yellow color scheme, also clearly identifiable as a robot-type being, Bumblebee lowered his head and met the Goddess's gaze.
Then, the Goddess's body suddenly expanded, returning to her 610-meter-tall form. She looked down at Bumblebee.
Bumblebee: "...?"
Something seems off?
"The Celestials!" Zheng Xian's face suddenly turned ashen. He quickly put on ten rings that radiated different power fluctuations, staring warily at the Goddess.
Not long ago, the Fourth Host led by the OAA had descended upon Earth once. They were extremely arrogant, completely ignoring the protests of the Earthlings and conducting their inspections with impunity. And then there was The Final Arbiter Lord that had ravaged Earth during the Blackest Night...
Without a doubt, the Celestials had been placed on the Earthlings' unwelcome blacklist.
Vector couldn't help but quip, "Director, that set of rings looks a bit familiar. Did you pry them off the Mandarin's hands?"
Zheng Xian declared with an air of righteousness, "Don't worry about the details. Whether it's a black ring or a white ring, any ring that can defeat the enemy is a good ring."
Vector and Sabretooth exchanged a look. They figured the Director had probably secretly stashed away a Black Lantern Ring and a White Lantern Ring...
But inwardly, their confidence instantly swelled.
The Mandarin's Ten Rings, according to information from A.R.G.U.S., were an artifact that, when combined, could surpass a single Infinity Stone. In the Prime Universe, they could rank in the top five, depending entirely on how much of their power the user could unleash.
Holding off a Celestial for a short time... still seemed a bit risky, didn't it? How much of the rings' power could he even unleash?
The Goddess seemed to know what they were thinking. She glanced down at Zheng Xian, and in the next second, the ten rings were gone.
They had vanished inexplicably.
Zheng Xian stared blankly at his bare fingers, suddenly feeling the urge to die.
He had lost a powerful artifact capable of suppressing the national fortune!
It's over. I can't continue in this Director's position anymore.
Heaven knows how much hardship S.P.E.A.R. had endured to take down their arch-nemesis, the Mandarin, only for the spoils of war to be lost just like that.
This only served to highlight the terror of the Celestial before them; a universe-level artifact couldn't even block a single glance from this golden Celestial.
Bumblebee stared blankly at the golden Celestial, who was nearly a hundred times his size. His optical sensors swirled as he raised an arm and then lowered it, as if wanting to greet her, yet feeling confused and helpless.
"'Whir-whir?'" Bumblebee asked.
The Goddess reached out coldly. "Disgusting creation of the One-Above-All. Just looking at you irritates me."
Bang!
Bumblebee was enveloped in a ball of light, then exploded with a boom and vanished.
"If it weren't for... you all would have been dead long ago."
The Goddess was agitated, her killing intent boiling.
She truly couldn't resist the urge to destroy this planet—no, the entire Solar System. This region was a place of sorrow for her.
One named Zhang Heng, and another named Da Vinci. The two of them had killed her offspring.
"Damn that One-Above-All..." The Goddess grew more violent. Just a few energy particles leaking from her body caused the entire Earth to tremble violently. In an instant, countless dormant volcanoes erupted without warning.
So irritating.
It's all the fault of those damn New Gods.
The One-Above-All meant trouble. They were unkillable, had immense potential, and this one was a One-Above-All who had achieved ascension from the multiverse, so they wouldn't be easily affected by the Speed Force Wall's attacks.
And a One-Above-All who controlled the Allspark at that...
The Goddess was enraged, and the entire Earth suffered for it.
At that moment, terrifying fluctuations from the ancient Celestial propagated faster than the speed of light, attracting the attention of Tony, who was not far from the Prime Universe.
His construction work came to an abrupt halt.
"A Top Ten Celestial has infiltrated the Prime Universe, and has gone to Earth..."
Tony frowned.
Uatu watched him silently, eyes wide, as if anticipating Tony's next move.
After a moment of contemplation, Tony's perception immediately extended into the Prime Universe, taking in everything that was happening on Earth. When he saw Bumblebee being banished by this Celestial, a vicious glint flashed in his eyes.
"Is she here to offer up her own head? Or is she simply reminiscing, or is there some other scheme?" Tony snorted coldly. His perception as the One-Above-All immediately spread out, attempting to locate Bumblebee.
But the connection felt extremely faint. And this was despite Tony relying on the Allspark link between himself as the Creator and Bumblebee as his creation.
