Chapter 809: Shocking! Zarathos Was...
Zarathos greatly feared the Spirits of Vengeance, and of course, he was even more terrified of The Spectre, who was known as the strongest Spirit of Vengeance. Almost every day, Zarathos treated The Spectre as his "imaginary enemy."
Even though he had never actually encountered The Spectre—otherwise, he would have been instantly killed long ago.
Just then, Duzun arrived with the Doomsday King Kong.
The aura of a peak Level Seven Demon was too obvious to hide from Duzun. The moment Duzun saw the crimson Great Demon, his eyes lit up.
"Who are you?"
"Are you the Demon who came from Hell to die?"
Duzun tilted his chin up.
Zarathos stuck out his long tongue, licked his lips, and revealed a savage smile. "So the Prime Universe not only has New Gods, but also rations like you who deliver themselves to my doorstep."
Eating people was nothing to Zarathos. Creatures of Duzun's tier, in particular, always had an unexpectedly delectable flavor.
Duzun sneered. His figure instantly vanished, and he pounced cruelly toward Zarathos.
Zarathos also shot to his feet, engaging Duzun in battle with a ferocious grin.
Two powerful, peak Level Seven beings—one from the Anti-Matter Universe, a trusted subordinate of the Anti-Monitor, and the other from the mighty Hell, a moderately famous Demon.
Their battle became white-hot from the very start. Brutal clashes occurred frequently, melting away large chunks of flesh and blood. Heat Vision and magma flew everywhere.
"What are you doing? Make your move already!!"
The longer Duzun fought, the more frustrated he became. He had thought Zarathos was a weakling, but it turned out his opponent was in no way inferior to him. The proud and arrogant Duzun couldn't accept this and couldn't help but roar at the Doomsday King Kong.
The Doomsday King Kong acted unhurriedly. Its eyes, filled with brutality, glanced first at Duzun, then at Zarathos, as if pondering which one it should kill...
When it looked at Duzun, the Doomsday King Kong thought of Tony. And thinking of Tony, it couldn't help but calculate the probability of defeating him...
The Doomsday King Kong looked back at Zarathos. Its cunning instincts told it that Duzun couldn't be killed yet; doing so would put it in a very troublesome situation.
Roar!
The Doomsday King Kong let out a roar. The skin on its face writhed, and its entire body radiated a dark silver metallic luster. Like a small mountain, it hurtled toward Zarathos.
Its thick arms contained power on the level of hundreds of millions of tons. A single ferocious punch came smashing down, causing Zarathos's expression to change. The air was insanely compressed countless times by this seemingly ordinary punch, turning into something like an air cannon.
Zarathos's face turned green!
His massive body, over ten meters tall, was smashed directly into the planet's core by the Doomsday King Kong's fist, only to burst out from the other side!
A piercing roar echoed as the residual power spread out in all directions through the tunnel. An entire massive planet was instantly torn to pieces by the immense force!
A dazzling spark flashed in the universe, illuminating Zarathos's ancient face, which had turned the deepest shade of green.
"Doomsday? What model of Doomsday are you? How can you be this strong!!!"
Zarathos roared in disbelief, his blood-red eyes completely bloodshot!
For an ancient Demon like Zarathos, Doomsday was nothing unfamiliar. The shadow of Ancient Doomsday had long loomed over the Sphere of the Gods, a shadow that reached its peak after Ancient Doomsday thrashed Darkseid.
During this time, an unknown number of small and medium-sized Realms had been blasted out of their hidden locations by that cunning and insidious creature, suffering its rampage.
And that was just Ancient Doomsday. Don't forget, back when Tony became a Level Seven singular god, he had unleashed tens of billions of Doomsdays of various models into the Sphere of the Gods. Some of those creatures had managed to survive and were now lurking somewhere and growing stronger...
Zarathos's old demonic face twisted into a knot. A mix of shock and rage, he stared at the Doomsday King Kong that had heavily injured him with a single punch, his entire body trembling in fear.
Right now, his body's surface was cracked open, his muscles were torn, and large streams of magma-like blood flowed down, a truly miserable sight.
He was being crushed by the Doomsday King Kong, unable to even catch his breath.
Duzun was also startled by the Doomsday King Kong's terrifying combat power. During the Blackest Night, when they fought countless Black Lanterns, the sheer number of enemies meant both he and the Doomsday King Kong were wiping out foes in droves. Although there was a power gap between them, it hadn't been very apparent.
But when it came to a real fight, using Zarathos as a benchmark...
"The Doomsday King Kong's combat power... how many Zarathoses is it equivalent to?"
Duzun looked at the screaming Zarathos, then at the brutal and bloodthirsty Doomsday King Kong. He fell into deep thought as a faint sense of unease rose in his heart.
My new subordinate is this strong... I really need to be more careful...
Duzun muttered to himself. Watching the Doomsday King Kong violently pummel Zarathos, he shivered hard and was lost in thought.
With a tremendous boom, Zarathos was blown apart by the Doomsday King Kong.
Accompanied by a piercing scream, Zarathos quickly regenerated, though his demonic body was left mangled and tattered.
"Enough! What the hell do you want?! And who the hell are you!!!" Zarathos screamed repeatedly. Amidst his pained curses and pleas, there was surprisingly a faint hint of... aggrievement!
Zarathos felt he had been deeply wronged.
He had just arrived in the Prime Universe and hadn't even killed a single person, yet he was hunted down and thrashed by two ridiculously powerful guys. Who did he provoke to deserve this?!
And one of them was even a terrifying Doomsday!
Zarathos was about to go insane!
"I am Duzun. Following the command of Primus, I am here to purge the trash that has infiltrated the Prime Universe. And as it happens, you are on the list for that purge."
Duzun arrogantly lifted his chin and sneered. His cold eyes inconspicuously glanced at the Doomsday King Kong before quickly looking away, trying hard to maintain a calm facade.
Zarathos felt as if he had been struck by a heavy blow.
"On what grounds? I haven't done anything! Is it too late for me to surrender!!!"
Zarathos had half his body smashed apart again by the Doomsday King Kong, and the other half was immediately blasted through by a beam of Heat Vision, leaving him looking utterly miserable.
Duzun was stunned for a moment. In that instant, a brilliant flash of inspiration struck him. He looked at the Doomsday King Kong, then at Zarathos, and fell into deep thought.
One subordinate could easily become too powerful and act alone.
Two subordinates would be perfect. He could make them compete for his favor...
Excellent, excellent. Zarathos, you are truly a talent!
Duzun slapped his thigh and declared majestically, "Alright, Doomsday King Kong, stop. Zarathos is not an enemy."
But the Doomsday King Kong merely gave him a glance filled with killing intent. The icy, sinister feeling made Duzun's face stiffen, as if he had been plunged into a frozen cavern.
Boom!
On the contrary, the Doomsday King Kong began to bombard Zarathos with even more fervor. What Duzun didn't know was that the demonic blood and hell aura flowing from Zarathos were being absorbed by the Doomsday King Kong with each blow, fueling a quiet evolution deep within its genes...
