Chapter 784: Taking Action
Through the shattered window, a chilling black light radiated in.
The Spectre's originally expressionless face suddenly shifted. Seeing this black light, thick with the aura of death, his expression changed drastically!
"What's happening in the outside world!"
The Spectre roared, a mix of shock and fury.
But Savitar ignored him completely, having no interest in paying him any mind.
Who was The Spectre? Trash. What, God's avatar of rage? Still trash. Once he killed The Flash and controlled the Speed Force Wall, even God would have to kneel before him!
Savitar was incredibly arrogant; he believed he had that potential!
Even though he knew nothing about God, merely thinking of this God as some unknown ancient entity.
They were all trash!
Savitar looked at Tony as the immense Speed Force surged around him. The Speed Force's collective consciousness had also descended and was staring at him with a gaze full of malice.
If it were possible, the Speed Force's collective consciousness would have definitely killed Savitar, but it couldn't.
"I feel a terrifying darkness... countless lives are wailing in agony, countless universes are being ravaged by death, and the innocent living are struggling helplessly in a real-life hell..."
The Spectre whispered.
Through that small opening, he rapidly received a vast amount of information from the multiverse. He could feel the catastrophe befalling the multiverse more clearly than anyone.
The rage in his heart erupted, burning ever hotter.
As God's avatar of rage, as the strongest of the Spirits of Vengeance, The Spectre shouldered the great mission of bringing judgment upon extreme evil. Protecting the innocent and the weak, and slaying sinners steeped in evil, was his divine duty and the ultimate meaning of his existence.
"I must leave this place! The darkness in the multiverse needs me to purify it!"
The Spectre's eyes shot open, rage blazing in his chest. A powerful willpower spread out as he controlled the Old Bartender's body and flew into the sky.
Tony gave The Spectre a cold glance. After digesting the information he had just received from his main body, he let out a long sigh.
Trapped here, it was difficult for him to communicate with his main body's information aggregate. He had only been able to successfully receive information from the outside world thanks to the opening Savitar had created.
"To think that after all these years I've been locked in here, the Blackest Night has already broken out in the outside world."
Tony shook his head and sighed, looking at the righteously indignant and furious Spectre as if he were looking at an idiot.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" The Spectre said angrily. "It is your duty to confront the darkness as well! Your main body must be fighting the darkness right now! Every being that lives in the light has a sacred mission to fight the darkness!"
Tony couldn't be bothered with him.
The Spectre's intentions were good. He was cold and ruthless, followed the duty of judgment, and was a herald of justice, incomparably fair.
But... it depended on who he was trying to pass judgment on.
It was true that The Spectre was powerful, and true that he was immortal. If pushed, he could even kill Darkseid's true form, and he could hold his own against all Five Great Gods at once. But... this time, his opponent was Nekron.
A monster that The Spectre could work himself to the point of coughing up blood and still not be able to harm a single hair on its head.
Nekron was a monster that could counter The Spectre to death.
Therefore, as Tony watched The Spectre's impatient and angry rush to strike down sin and protect the living, he felt a sense of admiration, but also genuinely thought the guy was about to suffer some terrible luck.
Just then, Savitar said coldly, "Tony, you are free."
Tony replied indifferently, "I thought you'd have more patience, but I didn't expect you to be so restless... Releasing this clone of mine now somewhat breaks the tacit understanding between us."
Savitar watched him in silence.
Tony sneered, "My main body has already received the message. Leave the rest to me. Also... don't try pulling any of your schemes on me. I might really have a way to kill you..."
Whoosh!
Savitar instantly appeared in front of Tony. The two stared at each other coldly as a subtle killing intent gradually rose between them.
At that moment, two figures burst in almost simultaneously.
The Flash and the Reverse-Flash zombie had arrived.
The Speed Force's collective consciousness immediately shifted its attention, staring intently at the two Black Lantern zombies. A massive amount of Speed Force began to gather, ready to strike.
"Judgment!"
The Spectre roared, his hair disheveled. The light of Judgment erupted from his body and viciously struck at the two Black Lantern zombies.
The Speed Force's collective consciousness also made its move, beginning to attack the Black Lantern zombies.
Tony and Savitar's expressions changed, and they immediately took action, attacking the zombies together.
Everyone knew that the Black Lantern zombies couldn't be allowed to enter the Speed Force Prison. It might cause subsequent trouble—for example, perhaps Nekron could use these two rings to set up a future move?
Killing them was the right thing to do.
Bang!
The two zombies were blasted to pieces, but they quickly began to revive.
Tony opened his palm. A divine light shattered The Flash, and he snatched away the Black Lantern ring.
On the other side, the Reverse-Flash was also shattered by The Spectre, and his Black Lantern ring was immobilized by The Spectre's light of Judgment, unable to move.
"This ring... something is preventing me from destroying it." The Spectre's face was grim; his light of Judgment had clearly encountered something troublesome.
This gave the herald of justice a premonition of disaster.
Tony looked at The Spectre without a word.
It wasn't that he was worried about The Spectre—on the contrary, he wished The Spectre would die. He was more worried about the Old Bartender's corpse... If it was controlled by a Black Lantern ring, it would be a huge problem.
Tony looked down at the frantically stirring Black Lantern ring in his hand, remaining silent.
The small Black Lantern ring was glowing faintly. Tony had the strange feeling that a pair of eyes was looking at him from afar, right through this ring.
...
Cybertron.
At the last stand, besieged by a massive number of zombies, countless powerful beings appeared.
This was the most intense combat zone, with clashes between level-seven beings everywhere.
Even the Ancient One, who usually stayed out of worldly affairs, had taken action. In the horde of zombies, he saw the Masters of the Mystic Arts; these familiar yet alien zombies were calling out to him loudly.
The Ancient One was silent for a very long time before finally raising his hand. A burst of light magic erupted, clashing violently with the Black Lantern zombies.
Level-seven zombies like Zeus and Ego took the opportunity to attack the Ancient One, but they were intercepted by Duzun, Jean, and others. Rogue, having absorbed the superpowers of all the mutants, had leaped to level-seven combat power and joined the battlefield. Even the two monsters, Doomsday King Kong and Red Lantern Hulk, had entered the fray, engaging in a fierce battle with the zombies.
Meanwhile, Tony had been sitting in the main hall, unnaturally quiet, silently watching the brutal great war as his thoughts drifted far away.
"A war of this scale is actually acceptable, even if many people die."
Tony watched the clashes between countless dead and living.
After a while, Tony finally stood up. He closed his eyes to receive the information from his clone, then slowly opened them.
"It's about time I made my move. I'll go confront Nekron directly. There are some things that need a final confirmation."
