Chapter 714: The Arrival of Sinestro
2022-10-19 Author: Great Demon Spirit
"Sinestro is back. That guy brought back an army. I can clearly feel it; the vast number of life forms from other universes cannot escape my perception."
Parallax rose, looking at the incredibly tiny Tony, its tail unconsciously swaying, a sign of its tension.
Compared to it, Tony's stature was too minuscule. Yet, from this body that looked like it could be crushed into a pulp with a mere touch, an aura that made it wary emanated.
Parallax waited for a moment, and seeing that Tony merely looked at it indifferently, it flicked its tail impatiently. A voice echoed, carrying a sinister laugh: "I know you're eyeing the Emotional Spectrum. You imprisoned me to gain more benefits, like my other six kin."
Tony stared back at Parallax expressionlessly.
Finally, Parallax couldn't help but roar, "What exactly do you want?! I'm tired of being imprisoned in this wretched place! State your demands, and I can help you!"
Tony suddenly sneered, "You were locked in the Green Lantern Power Battery by the Guardians for billions of years, and you didn't go mad. But after a mere few years here with me, you're already fed up?"
"Heh heh... once you've tasted freedom, the less you can tolerate being a prisoner again."
Parallax's eyes, filled with malice, glinted. It slowly opened its mouth, revealing a maw full of long, sharp teeth formed by the power of fear, a bite of which seemed capable of tearing off half a continent.
"Sinestro brought back a Yellow Lantern Corps. I can feel countless people begging for the power of fear from me... Sinestro controls a Yellow Lantern Power Battery, which is quite different from the one you control," Parallax said grimly.
"That's not important. I don't care how many people are in Sinestro's army, nor how many Power Rings he holds. Compared to that, I'm more curious about how the Guardians on Oa will deal with Sinestro, their former Leader, and whether they'll ask Optimus Prime to rejoin."
I'm more excited for the prelude to the Spectrum War that Sinestro will unleash.
The Sinestro Corps War, a prelude to the Spectrum War, is a bloody struggle between the Green Lantern Corps and the Sinestro Corps. It's a clash between anti-matter life forms from the Anti-Matter Universe and positive matter life forms from the Main Universe, two completely opposing forces, as if subtly stimulating the omnipresent Emotional Spectrum.
The other five colors of light will erupt after the Sinestro Corps War.
For the past tens of billions of years, only the Green Lantern Corps existed, but Lantern Rings of other common colors have appeared one after another in just a few short years. It's as if the Emotional Spectrum itself was stimulated by something, urging the birth of other Lantern Rings.
Tony guessed that Nekron must have grown impatient and secretly pushed things along.
On Oa's Book of Prophecy, this mysterious ancient book that appeared since the discovery of the Emotional Spectrum, the prophecy of the Spectrum War has long been recorded. When this page of the Book of Prophecy is turned, one will discover that the Spectrum War is merely a small prelude, and eternal darkness will descend, engulfing the universe.
All colored lights will pale before the darkness.
"In terms of research into the Emotional Spectrum, the Main Universe is far ahead of the entire Multiverse. Should anything happen, the Main Universe, being at the forefront, will bear the brunt."
Tony unhurriedly pulled over a chair and sat down calmly, facing the mountain-like Parallax.
Parallax was stunned. It had never considered this, because it had never even left the Main Universe... Although it could sense life forms from other universes, it also knew that Oa had been fighting Qward in the Anti-Matter Universe and generally knew that the Emotional Spectrum also existed there.
The Emotional Spectrum is a powerful energy that covers the Omni-Sphere World and the Sphere of the Gods. Even outside the Source Wall, the Emotional Spectrum exists. The twelfth Lantern Ring, the Ultraviolet Lantern Ring, comes from the mysterious unknown beyond the Source Wall.
Take the Infinity Stones, for example: the six Stones from the Main Universe become scrap metal in other universes, unable to exert even a fraction of their power. But the Emotional Spectrum is completely different. Power rings from other universes can still be used in the Main Universe, and can even combine with Main Universe lantern entities without hindrance.
The Emotional Spectrum's vast coverage is astonishing.
Parallax was like a big fish in a central pond; although it could occasionally stir up some ripples, among countless other ponds, it was truly nothing special.
It had no idea that Tony's gaze had long since skipped over the seven common lights, focusing instead on the other five power rings, each more twisted than the last.
"Isn't this exactly what you want? You are a greedy fellow, with a greed for power far surpassing ordinary people. I can help you get what you desire more smoothly," Parallax whispered.
Tony looked at it indifferently, as if watching a fool trying to entice a rich man with scrap metal.
Parallax irritably rattled its cage.
Tony mused for a moment, then opened a portal and teleported a person over.
Hal Jordan.
Hal felt his vision darken, and subconsciously enveloped himself with his Yellow Lantern Ring, creating a yellow, translucent defensive armor.
"Hal?" Parallax's eyes lit up. It greedily licked its tongue, and a low voice echoed in Hal's mind, completely undisguised.
Hal looked at the large insect before him, frowned, then turned to Tony: "Is there a mission you need me to do?"
Tony pointed at Parallax and said calmly, "Not me, it's it. It wants freedom."
"I've changed my mind, Hal. I want you. If you and I join forces, no one in this world can stop us—"
"You said that last time too, and then you ended up getting caught and brought here," Hal interrupted Parallax coldly.
Parallax glared fiercely at Tony, then grunted twice and fell silent.
"Hal, you are the most excellent Yellow Lantern. I don't want you to be swayed by this insect," Tony said calmly.
In the original story, Hal Jordan has a lot of dark history. When he was in a frenzied state, he could even ruthlessly slaughter his comrades in the Green Lantern Corps.
Hal is extremely sensitive to the Emotional Spectrum; he is a genius, but also easily swayed by Parallax—although Tony saved him from despair and helped him escape that dangerous state, it's always wise to take precautions.
Hal nodded heavily.
After a moment of hesitation, Hal said softly, "I want to go back to Earth... to see my city."
"To see Coast City?" Tony gave him a deep look.
Hal nodded silently.
Tony waved his hand, sending Hal away, granting him authority to travel to Earth.
Parallax chuckled coldly, "Hal has something he can't let go of in his heart; there might be trouble."
Tony said calmly, "I'm waiting for his choice, but that's not important right now. The main point is Sinestro. I'm more concerned about whether the Anti-Monitor is among the vast army he brought from the Anti-Matter Universe."
