Chapter 703

Sizzle...

"It smells delicious."

Annihilus ultimately could not escape the fate of becoming a roasted grasshopper.

Tony, standing at the apex of the food chain, had set his sights on him and eventually roasted him.

Honestly, it was his first time eating the meat of a Level Seven grasshopper, and the taste was surprisingly fragrant. This allowed Tony, who hadn't eaten roasted grasshopper in a very long time, to enjoy a delicious meal.

"I'm full."

On the lawn, vibrant purple plants swayed in the wind. Wanda contentedly patted her small belly, then comfortably lay back on the grass, quietly gazing at the stars in the sky.

"How long has it been since we lay on the ground and watched the stars?" Wanda suddenly asked, her flickering eyes looking at the man beside her.

Tony was focused on disassembling Annihilus's meat to help it cook faster. He paused at her words, then thought for a moment and replied, "It's been a very long time..."

"You even have to think to remember."

Wanda sighed, gently placing a cool hand on Tony's face.

"There's nothing for it. There are always restless individuals, and if we don't deal with them now, we'll certainly have to face them in the future. It's better to seize the opportunity while we have the time and quickly eliminate the threats they pose."

Tony flipped a piece of meat over, casually sprinkling some cumin and salt on it. Under the astonishingly high-temperature flames, the golden chunks of meat emitted an enticing aroma.

Ordinary flames couldn't cook Annihilus, so Tony had to disassemble Annihilus's body on a microscopic level to make the meat easier to soften.

Wanda tilted her head slightly, watching Tony's focused profile, falling silent for a moment.

Tony didn't turn around, but he could sense Wanda's every movement and generally understood what she was thinking.

"There will be an end. When we step out of this Multiverse, this hunting ground of the Gods, that's when we'll be able to settle down. At that time, I'll watch the stars with you every day, the stars of the Sphere of the Gods."

Tony used a twig to pick up a piece of meat and offered it to Wanda, but Wanda shook her head.

Tony opened his mouth and took a bite, chewing slowly. The taste didn't seem as delicious as before.

He knew what Wanda wanted, but there was nothing to be done; Reality was simply that cruel. More accurately, even Reality itself could be altered. Those ancient Gods could easily twist the boundary between Reality and illusion, even making the two mix and interchange.

Unknowingly, Tony had already encountered too many individuals, Life Forms even older than the Multiverse itself. Tony had directly and indirectly encountered too many of them.

The more he encountered, the more cautious he became, and the pressure multiplied.

Compared to those beings, Tony was still far behind. To avoid becoming prey and to protect everything he possessed, he had to keep moving forward.

Wanda stared blankly at the firelight, saying nothing.

Some questions didn't even need to be asked; she understood.

Even after entering the Sphere of the Gods, they wouldn't be able to settle down for a long time. Conflicts were inevitable between the native inhabitants of the Sphere of the Gods and Tony, this New God.

Stability was difficult to achieve.

After Tony ate some of Annihilus, the remaining portions were left for the Science Department researchers to take for study, and also for other gourmands to enjoy.

"When the Old Bartender died, I understood: in this world, if you choose some things, you must abandon others. This is the fairest exchange, and even if I am a God, I must follow this rule."

Tony blew a puff of air onto the bonfire, and with a soft whoosh, the flames completely extinguished. Scattered Sparks twinkled faintly, and eventually, one by one, they were destined to extinguish.

Over the years, he had killed many people, his hands stained with blood, and countless Wraiths wailed around him.

Similarly, he had lost some people around him.

"The old man must be doing well in Heaven, right...?" Wanda murmured softly.

"Hmph, that old geezer couldn't get into Heaven. How could Michael and his Birdmen take in a Mortal?" Tony embraced Wanda, deeply inhaling the fragrance emanating from her.

Heaven, as one of the Top-tier Realms of the Sphere of the Gods, was ruled by Michael, a Tier Nine powerhouse, who was even reputed to be the foremost being below a Level Ten God—of course, the extent of this so-called "foremost" was open to interpretation.

At the very least, Lucifer, the ruler of the Underworld, was no less powerful than him.

The Old Bartender died early, choosing to end his journey before Tony's Ascension to the Unique. Death wouldn't care about such a Mortal, so the Old Bartender's Soul should have escaped Death's grasp.

Perhaps it silently dissipated in some unknown realm, or perhaps it was unknowingly journeying on some long road.

"One day, I will visit the Netherworld. I want to see with my own eyes if that old geezer is still continuing his feat of hunting Vampires there."

Tony looked up at the twinkling stars filling the sky and said indifferently.

The Netherworld, in the Comics, was the most mysterious world. Compared to the highly frequented Hell, Apokolips, and others, the Netherworld was completely shrouded in the unknown.

It truly existed and was a Top-tier Realm of the Sphere of the Gods, yet it was the most mysterious and... bizarre.

Souls from across the Multiverse seemed to cross a long tunnel, only to have a tiny possibility of eventually reaching the Netherworld.

What they did upon arriving in the Netherworld, why they instinctively headed towards the Netherworld in a daze after death instead of Heaven, the Underworld, Hell, or anywhere else—all of it was unknown.

Death, who controlled the Multiverse's rules of Death, might know a little about its secrets, but she absolutely could not have a deep connection with the Netherworld.

The reason was simple: Death, with her mere Level Eight power, was not qualified to control the Netherworld.

One of Tony's greatest wishes was to openly enter the Netherworld one day, to see that place with his own eyes, and to see the Old Bartender, the Ancient One, Zod, and others who were fighting there.

He also wanted to see firsthand what form of existence these people truly took, and where the countless Doppelgängers coexisting with them went after successfully reaching the Netherworld.

Of course, the desire to visit old friends was just a thought. Aside from the dangers of the tunnel that allowed Multiversal Souls to pass through, even among the countless Doppelgängers, those who ultimately reached the Netherworld might not be from the Prime Universe, but more likely from Other Universes.

"One day, we'll truly be able to settle down and sit on the grass, watching the stars," Tony said in a deep voice, tightening his embrace around Wanda.

Wanda softly hummed in agreement.

Surging Chaos Magic flowed within her. Every moment, this Chaos Power, brimming with immense Power and Potential, was slowly growing stronger. The day Wanda could no longer contain it would be the day this Chaos Magic completely exploded.
