Chapter 689

Chapter 673: Unlucky Ebony Maw

2022-10-19 Author: Great Demon Spirit

Ebony Maw always believed he had reason to become a great entity. At least, that's what he thought before Grail blasted him into pieces.

He once served as one of the Black Order under Thanos, who relied heavily on him.

He once fought fiercely in the Cybertron Galaxy, and with his powerful willpower and spirit, he possessed a Kryptonian body specially cultivated for him, successfully escaping the perilous Cybertron Galaxy.

The new Ebony Maw possessed formidable physical power and potent psychic abilities. He should have become a god of the universe.

Not long ago, Ebony Maw found Thane, Thanos's only remaining son, attempting to cultivate him into a new cosmic Tyrant.

However, he discovered there was a problem with his body... He wasn't sure if it was a side effect of the imperfect integration, but Ebony Maw constantly felt like he was experiencing a mental split; numerous weak consciousnesses were vying for control over the body...

Ebony Maw knew he had been tricked.

This body was a massive trap, filled with many "little trinkets."

Ebony Maw was seething with rage.

After his spirit, already heavily damaged, occupied this body, he was forced to expend more energy to eliminate those eel-like consciousnesses one by one. There were hundreds of these chaotic consciousnesses, almost driving Ebony Maw mad.

Facing Grail, the lingering consciousness of a dog told him, "You should bark twice first to display your extraordinary valor to the enemy."

Ebony Maw felt like he was no longer himself. He was utterly ruined.

A youth named Thane, the child of Thanos and an Inhuman, looked at Ebony Maw with adoring eyes: "You are right."

Ebony Maw immediately put on a benevolent and sagacious expression: "My child, learn well. You will one day restore the prestige of the Eternal Titans. We will become great entities in this universe."

Thane nodded frantically. He had great faith in Ebony Maw.

Grail coldly watched these pathetic individuals and said chillingly, "Are you... looking to die?"

Ebony Maw crossed his arms and faced the opponent with a gentle demeanor, as he always had: "No matter who you are, I can see the confusion and fear in your heart. At this moment, you need a mentor in life to guide your path..."

Bang!

Grail instantly appeared before Ebony Maw, punched him, sending him flying, and blasted a large hole in the spaceship.

Grail detested such a condescending attitude the most. Someone who lacked the power to kill Darkseid had no right to act superior.

A roar of rage surged in Ebony Maw's eyes. He tore open the side wall of the spaceship with both hands. The Kryptonian body granted him immense physical power. His eyes glowed crimson, and a blast of Heat Vision erupted, shooting towards Grail.

Grail tilted her head to dodge, immediately grabbed Ebony Maw's head, and slammed it violently into the ground. The spaceship was torn open with a huge hole, and its hull was instantly shattered into two halves by the residual force.

His pathetic subordinates were instantly sucked into space, turning into ice blocks.

Ebony Maw was dazed from the beating. Blood seeped from his mouth, and his eyes were wide.

"Th-this..." Thane watched Grail in horror, clutching the spaceship tightly with both hands, trembling all over.

Grail scared him.

He was just a newly awakened Inhuman, abducted by Ebony Maw from Earth. He was a hothouse flower.

Ebony Maw's arm was crushed by the furious Grail. It was torn off by Grail starting from the shoulder and then thrown into space. Grail watched indifferently as the internal organs scattered.

Thane was utterly terrified, staring blankly at Grail.

Grail glanced at him indifferently, sensing something, her expression changed slightly, and she said chillingly, "You ant, get up. From now on, you are my servant."

Thane's nose was running and tears streamed down his face. He desperately clung to the spaceship's handrail.

Grail tsked, and with one hand, carried Thane back to the spaceship she had first attacked.

From Thane, she sensed something very interesting. These were two different powers. Thane had the potential to become a powerful individual, and perhaps he could be useful later.

Grail thought she should also find some useful subordinates.

"We are going to the Cybertron Galaxy," Grail commanded.

The octopus creature frantically steered the spaceship towards Cybertron.

...

Grail's arrival did not bring any significant change to the colossal entity that was Cybertron, because no one was willing to waste time on her.

Darkseid's daughter? What use was that? On Cybertron, countless individuals were Favored Ones of the New Gods. No one paid her any mind at all.

Honestly, to those powerful beings, descendants were truly not lacking, because many Gods simply didn't need offspring.

The entirety of Cybertron was preparing for the impending Great War. Many warlike individuals were sharpening their blades, intending to kill more insectoids and hone their combat power.

This rare Great War in the universe, involving legions on a scale of tens of billions, was truly a grand feast. Although many would die, even more would distinguish themselves on the battlefield.

All residents understood that war was inevitable and could only face it with a stronger resolve.

The entire Cybertron Galaxy had become a massive arms factory. Who had time to care about Darkseid's daughter?

Grail walked across Warworld with a darkened face. She had tried many times, but no one paid her any attention.

In other universes, whenever she invoked the name of Darkseid's daughter, she didn't need to do anything; countless fly-like fawning individuals would flock to her, desperately praising her.

But on Cybertron, this name and identity meant absolutely nothing. No one took it seriously.

The only god here was Tony. Tony was the only god.

Thane cowered and asked, "What should we do?"

Grail's gaze was icy cold. She glared fiercely at Thane, making Thane shrink his neck in fear, before she grumbled impatiently, "What do I know? I can't just attack the main planet, can I? Wait! We can only keep waiting!"

Thane hesitated, then said, "War is coming, perhaps this is our chance."

"Speak!"

"We can directly communicate with Cybertron's High Command on the battlefield to gain an audience with Tony. This is the best method," Thane said.

Grail was in a foul mood. She let out a cold snort. Her red eyes watched the fervent crowds coming and going, terrifyingly dark.

"Yo, Qull, why haven't you found a safe place to hide, you little beast? What are you doing running around Warworld?"

"Haha, Yondu, I'm more worried about your old bones becoming dinner for that insectoid. I came specifically to collect your corpse!"

The Ravagers and the Guardians of the Galaxy, as always, started bickering the moment they met. After a moment of tension, Qull and Yondu exchanged a glance and instantly reached a silent agreement. One moment they were glaring menacingly at each other, the next, they burst into hearty laughter, throwing their arms open wide.

Many people were engaging in this kind of cooperation. The Annihilation Wave was a very troublesome opponent.
